It was heard that Karma Chözom and other elders there said that he had unobstructed direct perception and could give instructions saying, "It seems that someone is going to die." Such things happened often, such as when he was residing in the monastery, he told a nun named Jamyang Drolma, "You will still live this long," and later she indeed passed away at that time. At the age of nine, in the Wood Horse year (uncertain, possibly referring to a specific Wood Horse year), he went to Darling and received the layperson's vow of refuge in the Three Jewels from his father, Rigzin Chenpo (Great Vidyadhara), and also received many empowerments and transmissions as an aside. In Dumbo, he entered the ranks of learning to read and write under his maternal grandfather, the scholar Dorje Wangyal, and with just a gesture of instruction, he could fluently read both regular and cursive scripts, and he learned the spelling of cursive letters, and soon he was able to write scriptures, and he also became proficient in regular script, etc., as a side effect, and everyone was amazed and praised him. After that, he effortlessly mastered the practices of his own tradition, the mother and son guru sadhanas, the peaceful and wrathful deities, Dongtruk, Kagye, Great Compassionate One, Amitayus, etc., the activity practices, and the torma offerings and repelling of protectors such as Maning, the major and minor empowerments and transmissions of Guru Shidrak, Tseta, Chakdor, etc., consecration, location instructions, fire offerings, etc., the practical aspects, and he stayed alternately in the monastery and Dumbo, effortlessly mastering them. When Bon Lungpa Tsultrim Gyaltsen went to Darling, he received a longevity empowerment, and he also received some empowerments and transmissions from Gongzhu Rinpoche. At the age of ten, in the early summer of the Wood Sheep year (uncertain, possibly referring to a specific Wood Sheep year), he stayed for several months at Chakjang Chökyi Ling as an attendant to his father, and he received some empowerments and profound instructions on the Bardo Thödrol, etc. In the late summer, he went to Ü-Tsang and, together with many virtuous friends from all directions, such as Palri Tulku Trinley Namgyal, he received from his father, Rigzin Chenpo, the ripening empowerment of Kagye Deshek, and the transmission of the entire Pusti of the Five Stages of Practice Instructions, and all the empowerments, transmissions, profound instructions, and pictorial instructions of Lama Gongdü. That winter, together with many Monpa and Tibetan Dharma seekers, such as Monpa Lama Kungye, he received the empowerments and transmissions of all the terma teachings of the tertön Pema Lingpa.

Including profound instructions and practices. Also listened to all the empowerments and transmissions of the Dharma cycles of Lho Lhaso Lingpa. During those times, he committed the Yizhin Dzö to memory and, relying on its self-commentary, listened attentively to the explanations in the presence of his father. Once, due to negligence in supervision, all the scriptures were carried away by the wind from the top of the Ladrang, but they were all found intact in the eastern gorge. This seemed to be an auspicious sign that the monastery would move to the east. At the age of eleven: At the age of eleven, in the fourth month of the Fire Monkey year, with the intention of offering his hair to the omniscient Gyalwa Rinpoche Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso, who had become the refuge of all beings in the world, he set out towards the Kyishö region as an attendant to his father. On the way, passing through Döl, he went to Dorje Drak to meet the incarnate lama Rinpoche. He also carefully examined the relics such as the astrological chart of Chögyal Jangpa. The next evening, he was invited to Nyepu Mönrong and received great hospitality. Gradually, he went to Gungthang and received the Ambrosia Vase and the cycles of Mönpa Keta from Zur Kunkhyen Chöying Rangdröl. Then, he took a boat from Lhadong and made offerings to the great Sa-wang in Lhasa Chökhor. On the twenty-third, at the glorious Drepung, he offered his hair at the feet of the protector of the snowy land, the omniscient Gyalwang. At the same time, he was given the name Ngawang Padma Tenzin, and he first went to the Pawa Wati chamber in Kyidrong, which was a wonderful auspicious coincidence. Both father and son received great joy, teachings, and generous gifts. He only met the upper incarnate lama of the chamber and then returned to Gungthang as he had been invited before. There, Zurchen said, "This time, going to Pawa Wati and offering hair is very auspicious. This lineage will surely benefit Buddhism and sentient beings." Both father and son received generous gifts, and especially for Rinpoche himself, it was said to be for good fortune, and he was also presented with a new hat of great red brocade. Again, crossing the Kyichu River, he went to Lhasa, Ramoche, and Potala for pilgrimage. Then, with the intention of going to Tsang Bonpo, he went to Tölung
