Being skilled in giving and helping the poor, it is especially beneficial to the impoverished minds who long for liberation. The vast ocean of hearing the Dharma is immeasurable, and the profound and essential teachings are unfathomable. The waves of blessings, experiences, and realizations surge greatly, completely pacifying the heat and suffering of beings in the three realms. Drawing all the Dharma essence from the venerable and holy masters, with the drink of wisdom, they continuously bestow the nectar-like rain of Dharma upon the fortunate ones. It is truly rare and wonderful that they still rely on listening, contemplating, and meditating without ever being satisfied! Thereafter, on an auspicious day with favorable planetary conjunctions, when he ascended the great Dharma throne of Dargyé Chöling Monastery, the heart-son incarnation scattered flowers of auspicious blessings. At the same time, offerings of nine kinds of gifts, led by silk brocade, were presented, and the monastic community and patrons also made extensive offerings. Not long after, he traveled to Tsang Bonpo (གཙང་བོན་པོ།) with the heart-son Rinpoche and listened to the Five Treatises of Maitreya from Kunkhyen Tsultrim Dorje (ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྡོ་རྗེ།). In addition, he received the empowerment related to the Seven Lifetimes Sadhana of Padling (པད་གླིང་།) Great Compassionate One in public, as well as the scattered empowerments of Norbu Gyatso (ནོར་བུ་རྒྱ་མཚོ།), and the transmissions of Gyalsé (རྒྱལ་སྲས།) Thousand Teachings. Together with a small group of monastic Dharma students, he received the empowerment and transmission of the Kagye Rangjung Rangshar (བཀའ་བརྒྱད་རང་བྱུང་རང་ཤར།), and the life-force entrustments concerning the Dharma protectors solely from the master himself. He intended to study poetry with the speech incarnation Rinpoche, and had previously requested it from the monastery, but Rinpoche declined, saying that he was too old and that learning poetry would take a lifetime. Although he wanted to request it at that time, he said he did not dare to ask. From the heart-son incarnation Tenzin Gyurme, he received the Seven Treasures and the Three Cycles of Rest, and from the scholar-adept Tsultrim Gyaltsen, he also received the empowerment and transmission of the Khandro Nyingthig. At this time, the five or six Dharma students from various regions all relied on this master without any arrogance. On the way back, passing through Nyemo (སྙེེ་མོ།) and Rongchung (རོང་ཆུང་།), he stayed for three days in Chushur (ཆུ་ཤུར།), where his uncle Sonam Rabpa (བསོད་རབ་པ།) provided service. Afterwards, he made a wooden bridge between Yakang (ཡང་ཁ།) and returned to the monastery, where he spent three months in strict retreat in the meditation chamber of Ösel Tser, practicing the fierce red deity's recitation.

Therefore, signs appeared. After that, at the time of liberation from Nakartse (Sna dkar rtse), he met with the great Achiever Mantra Holder, the Chieftain, who came to visit him. He bestowed the transmission of Padling Norgyam (pad gling nor rgyam) to Lama Tsaluwa (bla ma tsha lu ba), and the transmission of scattered treasure teachings of Padling (pad gling) to Dharma Lord Lingpa Lochen (chos rje gling pa lo chen). Knowing that the lineage he had heard from his father was pure and undefiled, he later received from this lama the empowerment of the Great Empowerment of the Collected Sutras, and the practices of both the Kham and Zur traditions (zur lugs), separately without mixing them. On the evening of the tenth day of the ninth Hor month, in the meditation chamber of the sleeping quarters, in a vision of light, in a delightful temple that seemed to be Samye Chimphu (bsam yas mchims phu), many yogis were performing rituals, surrounded by many women gathered around. As he sat in the lower row with a viewing mind, he saw at the head of the row an elderly yogi said to be the treasure revealer Dorje Lingpa (rdo rje gling pa), in front of whom was a large sandalwood vase. The yogi was holding a kapala, which was painted with vermilion and had a mandala of a sow drawn on it with gold lines, and he was wiping it with a red silk cloth. A young woman filled the kapala with a liquid that looked like milk, which seemed to be rice wine, from the sandalwood vase. Another woman brought a large birch bowl filled with many kinds of food that he had never seen before, and offered it to the yogi. From the beginning of the row, everyone took a bite of food and a sip of wine from the kapala in turn, but it did not seem to diminish. Afterwards, the woman offered the container with various kinds of food, and when he enjoyed it, he felt that the taste and energy were very rich. Then, the food and the container were put into a white cloth bag and held in his hand. The yogi handed him a small rolled-up paper, saying it was a Geshe monk's hat amulet. When he looked at it, he saw that at the beginning there were three Tibetan letters (Sanskrit Devanagari), e ma hoh (Sanskrit Romanization), Alas, how wonderful!, the rest was only Chinese characters, and although he did not understand them, he received it with great devotion, and then that yogi and everyone left. It is said that afterwards he himself came out and stepped onto a stone slab, and immediately woke up. At the end of that month, he went to Chak Jangchubling (chag byang chub gling).
