In summary, there are two methods: the method of understanding the object to be measured by oneself, and the method of guiding others after understanding. Among them, "Pramana is the non-deceptive one" means that pramana is non-deceptive because it is the measurer that does not confuse its own object to be measured. For example, like a bushel and a scale. There are three types of objects to be measured: manifest, obscure, and extremely obscure. The measurers of these are: there are four types of manifest pramana for measuring manifest objects, namely, sense perception, mental perception, self-awareness perception, and yogic perception. The measurer and establisher of obscure objects is: the basis of inference by the power of reality - three reasons, as it is said in the Sutra of Ten Dharmas: "Just as one knows fire from smoke, just as one knows water from waterbirds, the lineage of the wise Bodhisattva knows by means of pramana." Thus, the cause of the effect, and as it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: "That which has the characteristic of slightly arising, all of that is the object of negation." Thus, the reason of self-nature, and "The pramanas do not enter, there is no result in the absence of entry, depending on the difference of cause, some do not know the result." Thus, the reason of non-apprehension, etc. The reason for measuring extremely obscure objects is: because neither manifest nor real reasons can be established, it is necessary to rely on the three purified proofs to understand. Thus, there are three aspects to the history of how the science of pramana arose. The first is the Buddha's teaching: Monks, knowing blue with eye consciousness is not thinking of it as blue. Among them, "knowing blue" indicates the wisdom that is not confused by the limbs, and "not thinking of it as blue" indicates the wisdom that is free from conceptualization and not confused, thus clearly explaining the characteristics of manifest perception. Also, monks, there are two ways of knowing form: relying on the eye and the mind. Among them, "relying on the eye" indicates sense perception, and "relying on the mind" indicates mental perception. "There is no mind in the mind, the nature of the mind is clear light." indicates self-awareness perception. "The Dharma eye of all dharmas, without dust and free from defilement, is extremely pure." indicates yogic perception. Thus, the four types of manifest perception and inference.

The three supports and reasons are all as stated in the Sutra Pitaka as mentioned before. Secondly, the way (scholars) explain it is: from the Teacher, it was passed down to the Arhat Dharmaraksha, who taught it to the great Pandit Me Weng Ge De, who taught it to the great scholar Dignāga. Dignāga also composed a treatise called "Accomplishment of Debate" in his youth. Dignāga had four learned disciples, and the one who surpassed him in logic was Dharmakīrti. Mañjuśrī personally inspired him to compose the Compendium on Valid Cognition (Pramāṇasamuccaya), and as a commentary on it, Dharmakīrti's disciple Vādeva, after hearing it from the glorious Dharmakīrti, composed the Seven Treatises on Valid Cognition (Pramāṇavārttika): the extensive Commentary on Valid Cognition (Pramāṇavārttika), the intermediate Ascertainment of Valid Cognition (Pramāṇaviniścaya), and the concise Drop of Reasoning (Nyāyabindu), these three are the main treatises like the body. The four that branched out from them are: the Drop of Reasons (Hetubindu) and the Examination of Relations (Sambandhaparīkṣā) that branched out from inference for oneself, and the Establishment of Other Minds (Saṃtānāntarasiddhi) and the Categories of Debate (Vādanyāya) that branched out from inference for others, these four are the branch treatises. Thirdly, the way it was translated into Tibetan is: during the early dissemination of the teachings, some of the later parts of the Seven Treatises and the commentary of Dula Lha were translated. During the later dissemination, Ra Lotsawa translated the Sutra Pitaka and the Commentary on Valid Cognition, the Ascertainment of Valid Cognition, and the great commentary, etc. In particular, Ngok Lotsawa Chenpo made many new translations and revisions, and established them through teaching and practice. The Commentary on Valid Cognition, in relation to the Ascertainment of Valid Cognition, only maintained the tradition of teaching without interruption. Later, Chöje Sakya Paṇḍita made great efforts to promote it, and established it through translation and explanation. Palden Rinchen added to the length of the Commentary on Valid Cognition at Sangpu, etc., which made it very prosperous. Inner Science. The fifth of the five sciences is Inner Science: as it is said, "Inner Science is known and established as the three vehicles," from the perspective of what is to be expressed, there are three or nine vehicles. Among them, the three vehicles are: the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Realizer Vehicle, and the Bodhisattva Vehicle. Or, as stated in the Gongdü Sutra: "The vehicle of definitive ultimate meaning is taught to be definitely three: the arising guidance and ascetic knowledge, and the vehicle of empowering means." The nine vehicles are: dividing each of these three into three, that is, dividing the three Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas into three categories of characteristics, or the vehicle of arising guidance, and dividing the three Kriyā, Upā, and Yoga into ascetic knowledge.
