Therefore, (the Buddha) bestowed (upon him) verses, and as soon as the verses were spoken, (his) life was cut short. After that, Devadatta incited Ajātasattu (Unborn Enemy) to oppose (the Buddha), and enacted a law not to worship the Buddha and his Sangha. The house of the young Agni Kumāra was indistinguishable between day and night, and Ajātasattu exchanged the royal palace with him seven times, but he still followed (the Buddha). When (Ajātasattu) intended to send troops there, Agni Kumāra gave away all his wealth and took the full ordination in the presence of the Teacher (Buddha), attaining Arhatship. This Hārītī (Robber Mother) had previously offered fruit to an Arhat and prayed to eat all the children born in Magadha, and due to the power of this matured evil prayer, she gave birth to one to five hundred children and robbed and ate the children born in Rājagṛha (Royal City). They prayed to the Teacher (Buddha) to subdue her. When the Teacher (Buddha) saw the Robber Mother going to eat children with her own children, (the Buddha) covered her only young son Priya (Joyful) with a bowl. (The Buddha) blessed him to be invisible and left him there. The Robber Mother came and searched, but could not find him. She went to the Candana Grove and prayed to the son of Vaiśravaṇa (All-Hearing), who prophesied that if she prayed to the Teacher (Buddha), she would find her son. She did so. The Teacher (Buddha) asked her how many sons she had, and she replied that she had five hundred. The Teacher (Buddha) said, what does it matter if one is missing? She replied that if she could not see her son Joyful, she would vomit blood and die. The Teacher (Buddha) rebuked her, saying, if you know the suffering of being separated from your son, why do you eat other people's sons? She asked, what should I eat? The Teacher (Buddha) said, if that is the case, those who claim to be my followers should give you a calamus (Acorus calamus) before they eat. She believed it and vowed to do as (the Buddha) said, and placed herself under the precepts. After that, Indra (Hundred Eyes) slightly destroyed the arrogance of Ajātasattu and Devadatta. Cāruka confessed to Śāriputra (Shariputra) the sin of making ghee with his mother adorned with garlands, and received instruction, attaining Arhatship. Cāruka was praised as the best of the lay devotees. After that, when (the Buddha) was staying by the pond called Dālabbha in the Audumbara (Fig) forest, the Four Great Kings offered wish-fulfilling jewels. They taught the Dharma in their respective languages, and thus (he) realized the truth. After Nirvana, (the Buddha) instructed them to protect the Dharma, and they were very happy.

The east is guarded by Dhritarashtra, the south by Virudhaka, the west by Virupaksha, and the north is promised to be guarded by Vaishravana. In Shravasti, there was a Brahmin boy named 'Fearless One,' who could jump up and catch birds in the sky. He was immensely strong and skilled in the Vedas. The wife of the Brahmin teacher wanted to have an affair with him, but he refused. Therefore, she slandered him to the teacher, who then led him astray, saying that if he killed a thousand people in seven days, cut off their heads, and made a garland of fingers, he would be reborn as Brahma. So, he ran around with a sword, killing everyone he met, totaling nine hundred and ninety-nine people, and made a garland of fingers. When his mother heard this, she brought food to see him, but he chased after her with a sword to kill her. At that time, the Teacher appeared before him in the form of an ordinary monk, whom he did not recognize. The Teacher said to him, 'Your mind is deluded.' etc. After hearing this, he regretted his sins, threw away his sword, prostrated from afar, and cried out for refuge. The Teacher revealed his true form, and he fell to the ground, confessing and repenting his sins, realizing the truth. He became a monk and soon became an Arhat. After that, the Blessed One thought of subduing the beings of the northern region, and together with Vajrapani, ascended into the sky and saw a green forest, saying, 'This is the Udyana Mountain. A hundred years after my Nirvana, a place corresponding to Shamatha will appear, called the Rama Sala Garden.' Again, ascending into the sky, he saw a green forest with lakes, saying, 'This is the land of Kashmir. A hundred years after my Nirvana, the Arhat Surya Gupta will appear.' Afterwards, while traveling in the land of destruction, he saw a mountain decorated with green forests, and the Blessed One prophesied, 'A hundred years after my Nirvana, dancers and heroes will build a temple, becoming the best abode corresponding to Shamatha and Vipassana. A person named Nera Gupta will appear, and he will be prophesied as an unnamed Buddha.' After that, he subdued Nanda and Vegavati, born of dragons, who were among the group of six. After that, a severe plague broke out, and many people died, and King Ajatashatru also suffered from a serious illness, feeling very painful and depressed. Sarva Matri expanded on the previous events.
