Moreover, even the blessings of the Buddha, cannot arise without a lama. ' etc., recite these words that generate certainty, and keep their meaning in mind. To generate the intention to take the essence from the human body, one needs to know that leisure and endowment are difficult to obtain. That which eliminates the decline of samsara and nirvana, and produces all that is desired, the qualified lama, supreme like a king! Like Sadāprarudita and Sāgaramati, to rely on them with reverence is a good fortune! Second, meditating on the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment is divided into four parts: identifying leisure and endowment, its difficulty to obtain, the great significance of obtaining it, and therefore the reason to take its essence. First, regarding leisure: 'By abandoning the eight unfree states, one always obtains leisure,' as stated in the Ratnakuta Sutra, it is to be free from the eight unfree states. The eight unfree states are: hell, hungry ghosts, animals, barbarians, long-lived gods, wrong views, a world without a Buddha, and dumbness. As it says, the three lower realms and the long-lived gods who reside on one side of great fruition, that is, the four non-human beings; and those born in border areas such as barbarians, and those who deny the results of karma and hold wrong views, and those born in lands where there is no Buddha's teaching, and the dumb who have defects in their tongue and mind, these eight, including the four human beings, are called 'unfree' because there is no opportunity to practice Dharma. A body that is free from these is called 'leisure' or 'endowment,' because there is an opportunity to practice the sacred Dharma. Regarding 'endowment,' from ten aspects, gathering the conducive conditions for practicing Dharma by oneself is called 'self-endowment,' and there are five: being human, born in the central land, having complete faculties, not having reversed the limits of karma, and having faith in the Dharma. As it says, being born as a human, born in a central land with the fourfold assembly, having complete faculties free from defects such as dumbness, not having committed irreversible actions such as the five heinous crimes, and having faith in the source of virtue. Similarly, as it says: 'The Buddha appeared and taught the Dharma, the teaching remains, and follows it, and cherishes the heart for others.' As it says, the Buddha appeared in the world, taught the sacred Dharma, the lineage of the taught Dharma remains, there are individuals who follow the teaching, and benefactors who cherish those who have entered the path with compassion, giving food, clothing, etc., these five are because they possess other conducive conditions for practicing Dharma. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is called 'other's endowment'. Thus, the body endowed with the qualities of leisure and endowment is repeatedly praised in all the scriptures as the perfect basis for practicing the sacred Dharma. Secondly, it is difficult to obtain from the perspective of cause. In general, even just attaining a body in the happy realms depends on accumulating perfect virtuous actions. Because for those who are separated from virtue and indulge in sin, even hearing the name of the happy realms is extremely difficult. As stated in the 'Bodhicharyavatara': 'Without performing virtuous deeds, and accumulating sins, even after hundreds of millions of kalpas, one will not hear the name of the happy realms.' In particular, obtaining a body endowed with leisure and endowment cannot be achieved without accumulating vast virtuous actions. Because the difference between good and bad bodies as a result must be determined by the power of good and bad causes. In this way, beings endowed with perfect virtuous causes are extremely rare. As stated in the 'Four Hundred Verses': 'Most people are not noble, holding onto wrong views everywhere. Therefore, ordinary beings will definitely go to the lower realms.' As it says, most beings such as humans universally hold onto non-virtuous sides, therefore they tend towards the lower realms. From the perspective of essence, it is difficult to obtain. Compared to other types of beings, even just obtaining a human body is as rare as a star during the day. Because the formation of the six realms is said to be similar to a pile of grains. Even looking at the scattered animals that are commonly seen, it can be confirmed through experience. Looking at how few aquatic and terrestrial animals there are within sight, and then looking at the types and numbers of insects living on one's own body, one can immediately understand how unlikely it is to obtain a human body. Therefore, let alone how difficult it is to obtain a human body endowed with leisure and endowment. Even in the dark kalpas where there is not even the name of the Buddha, and in the bright kalpas, the difference between places where the light of the sacred Dharma pervades and does not pervade, and the difference between being born in a place where the Dharma flourishes, whether or not it can become a basis for practicing the Dharma, and even if it can become a basis, initially encountering the Dharma and the spiritual friend who teaches it, generating faith after encountering them, entering into practice after generating faith, and finally completing the practice, if one examines the rarity of these conditions, one will find it as rare as the Udumbara flower. Considering this meaning, the holy 'Ratnakuta Sutra' says: 'It is difficult to be liberated from the eight unfree states.'
