is the wisdom of individual discernment. Because it has more power than other minds, it is called *lhag mthong* (superior seeing, Vipassanā) because it sees the true state of affairs of objects. The *zhi nas* (calm abiding, Śamatha) and *lhag mthong* (superior seeing, Vipassanā) described above must also be practiced in conjunction, because neither alone can completely accomplish the need to abandon afflictions and realize the nature of reality. Therefore, one must know in detail how to combine them, which has already been explained elsewhere. Second, the practice of post-meditation: 'In between sessions, act like an illusionary being.' This means that in all activities between sessions, with great compassion as the forerunner, with illusion-like mindfulness and awareness, one should diligently engage in benefiting others. As it says in the *Madhyamaka-krama* (Stages of Meditation): 'If harm comes to the body, etc., in the meantime, view all the worlds as illusions, mirages, dreams, water moons, and optical illusions, and think to yourself: These sentient beings, not understanding such profound Dharma, will always be afflicted in samsara. I must somehow make them understand that Dharma nature. I will do so.' Thinking in this way, manifest great compassion and the mind of enlightenment. Then, gently unfold the crossed-leg posture, prostrate to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas residing in the ten directions, make offerings and praises to them, and make great aspirations such as the *Arya Bhadrakaryapranidhana* (Noble Deeds of Good Conduct). And so on, for those with intelligence, these are the precious eyes for seeing the path to liberation, which Panchen Padma's Attitude has clearly instructed with great compassion. The various appearances are the magic of the mind, the nature of the mind is originally unborn, the non-dual wisdom is beyond characteristics, I prostrate to those who have truly realized it. Transforming Adverse Conditions into the Path to Enlightenment Thus, after meditating on the actual Bodhicitta, from here on, the great oral transmission masters have named it 'later Dharma', and there is no fixed number or order of items, and there are many or few root words, and various orders occur. But according to the Seven Points of Mind Training, the third is to transform adverse conditions into the path to enlightenment: 'When the vessel and essence are controlled by sin, transform adverse conditions into the path to enlightenment.' It means that the wealth, enjoyment, and power of the vessel and essence are controlled by sin. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When all misfortunes fall like rain, it is crucial to carry the essential advice with you, because without it, practice will be controlled by adversity. Therefore, there are two aspects to this: carrying it with thought and carrying it with action. First, transforming adversity into the path to enlightenment by relying on relative Bodhicitta (enlightenment mind): 'All the blame lies with me.' Meditate on all beings as being full of kindness.' When an unpleasant adversity occurs, do not shift the blame to others, but remember what was said before, that the root of all faults lies in self-cherishing. As it says in the *Bodhicharyavatara* (A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life): 'For hundreds of lifetimes, it (self-cherishing) has harmed me in samsara. Now I remember all the hatred, destroy your selfish thoughts.' Therefore, all the blame lies with self-cherishing alone. For example, because of you, from beginningless time, I have been jealous of those higher than myself, contemptuous of those lower than myself, and competitive with those equal to myself, harming others in various ways through actions of body, speech, and mind. As a result, I have also experienced endless suffering in the three lower realms, etc. As it says in the *Bodhicharyavatara*: 'I have harmed sentient beings in this way in the past, therefore, it is right that I should experience this suffering from those who harm sentient beings.' Therefore, now is the time to distinguish between friend and foe, to recognize who is the friend to be abandoned. Destroy the root of evil—you (self-cherishing). As it says in the *Bodhicharyavatara*: 'The time when you destroyed me in the past is gone. Now I see you, where will you go? I will destroy all your pride.' Therefore, regard self-grasping as the enemy and regard all sentient beings, led by the harmer, as benefactors. Because each and every sentient being has been our parent countless times, they are full of kindness. Furthermore, as it says in the *Bodhicharyavatara*: 'For a person who is accomplishing Buddhahood, the Buddha and sentient beings are similar in terms of help. Since you respect the Buddha, why not respect sentient beings?' Because for a person who is accomplishing Buddhahood, the Buddha and sentient beings are the same in terms of help. Just as one can accomplish qualities such as faith by relying on the Buddha, one can accomplish all the practices of a Bodhisattva, such as love, compassion, Bodhicitta, the six perfections, and the four ways of gathering disciples, by relying on sentient beings. Therefore, by repeatedly thinking about these reasons, strive to focus on the practice of giving and taking (Tonglen). In this way, obstacles --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
