Just as there are various kinds of food, similarly, various kinds of drinks should also be prepared. Likewise, prepare beds, cushions, bedding, vehicles, clothes, flowers, garlands, incense, burning incense, perfume, powders, jewels, ornaments, jeweled chariots, umbrellas, victory banners, divine banners, and various kinds of objects to fully satisfy them, until they are content. The gods are also fully satisfied with divine food. Nagas (Klu, serpent beings), Yakshas (gnod sbyin, nature spirits), Gandharvas (dri za, celestial musicians), Asuras (lha ma yin, demigods), Garudas (nam mkha' lding, mythical birds), Kinnaras (mi'am ci, mythical beings, half-human, half-horse), Mahoragas (lto 'phye chen po, great serpents), and humans and non-humans are also fully satisfied with human and non-human food, until they are content. However, this offering does not decrease, does not decline, does not diminish, does not run out, does not become tainted, does not have an end, does not have a limit. As it is said in the sutra, such principles are found everywhere in this sutra. If one thinks that it is difficult to achieve great merit of generosity merely through intention (mopa), that is not correct. Because in general, the main agent of good and bad actions is the mind, and in particular, the perfection of generosity depends on the mind. As it is said in 'Entering the Bodhisattva's Way': 'If giving to the poor were the perfection of generosity, then there would still be poverty. How did the Buddhas of the past perfect generosity? By giving away everything, including fruits and roots, with the intention of benefiting all beings, that is the perfection of generosity, because it depends solely on the mind.' Therefore, these methods of cultivating visualization are collected from the vast scriptures and the immaculate instructions of mind training, and should not be regarded as measuring the ocean with a frog's span. One should strive to practice with strong faith. Even if one examines the words and meanings of the 'Aspiration Prayer of Samantabhadra', this principle is very clear. To strengthen these memories, one should recite the extensively explained contents of 'Entering the Bodhisattva's Way', such as 'Body and possessions and the three times, all virtues for the sake of all beings, without stinginess, give away and dedicate.' etc., while remembering their meaning. May I freely wield the inexhaustible treasury of space, satisfying all the great guests of samsara and nirvana, my great conduct like an immeasurable ocean! Just as there are various kinds of food, and various kinds of drinks, as well as beds, cushions, bedding, vehicles, clothing, flowers, garlands, incense, burning incense, perfume, powders, jewels, ornaments, jeweled chariots, umbrellas, victory banners, divine banners, etc., with various objects of enjoyment, may they be satisfied, until their minds are joyful. May the gods be satisfied with heavenly food. May the Nagas (serpent beings), Yakshas (nature spirits), Gandharvas (celestial musicians), Asuras (demigods), Garudas (mythical birds), Kinnaras (mythical beings), Mahoragas (great serpents), and humans and non-humans be satisfied with human and non-human food, until their minds are joyful. Therefore, these methods of contemplation and practice are collected from the vast scriptures and the immaculate scattered instructions of mind training, as appropriate. Do not measure the ocean with the view of a frog in a well. One should strive to practice with strong faith. Even if one studies the words and meanings of the 'Samantabhadra's Aspiration Prayer', this principle will be clearly understood. To make these memories firm, one should remember their meaning and recite the extensively explained contents of 'Entering the Bodhisattva's Way', such as 'Body and possessions and the three times, all virtues for the sake of all beings, without stinginess, give away and dedicate.' etc. May I freely wield the inexhaustible treasury of space, satisfying all the guests of samsara and nirvana, my great conduct like an immeasurable ocean! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
