Visualize your food, possessions, houses, and all other resources in front of you. Transform them into inexhaustible sources of enjoyment through visualization and blessing. Offer them to the four types of guests, imagining them as wish-fulfilling jewels, wish-granting trees, virtuous vases, and countless treasures of precious gems, satisfying and delighting all beings, especially the poor. Third, bring to mind all the virtues you have accumulated in the past, present, and future. Bless them to become inexhaustible Dharma (teachings) and realization (spiritual attainment). By giving them to all sentient beings, contemplate the growth of Dharma wealth. In particular, as stated in the *Ornament of the Sutras*: 'Some always engage in wrongdoing, some destroy all white dharmas, some have no virtues that accord with liberation, and the lack of white virtues is due to the lack of cause.' Therefore, give to those who commit the five heinous crimes, those who hold wrong views, those who are of inferior capacity, and those who are obscured by the faults of their lineage, etc., who lack Dharma. Furthermore, as stated in the *Bodhicharyavatara*: 'For the sake of accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings, transform this body into a wish-fulfilling body.' And 'the great elements such as earth,' etc., rely on the mind training based on the wish-fulfilling jewel, and the mind training based on the four great elements, etc., practice according to the instructions of the former great masters. These methods are all just the stages of practice that come from the pure sutras. For example, regarding giving away the body, as stated in the *Arya Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra*: 'This body, I shall use it for whatever work there is for all sentient beings. Just as these four great elements—the earth element, the water element, the fire element, and the wind element—through various doors, various ways, various aims, various implements, and various enjoyments, cause sentient beings to enjoy them. Likewise, I too shall widely sustain all sentient beings with this body of the four great elements, through various doors, various ways, various aims, various implements, and various enjoyments.' This is the general way of giving. As stated in the *Sutra Requested by the Son of Non-Grief*: 'Whatever sentient being wants, take it! Whoever wants a hand, take a hand; whoever wants a foot, take a foot; whoever wants an eye, take an eye; whoever wants flesh, take flesh; whoever wants blood, take blood; whoever wants a bone, take a bone; whoever wants limbs and minor limbs, take them!' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For example, it is said that limbs and organs, as well as the head, should be given away separately. Regarding the giving of possessions, the sutra states: 'External things, such as wealth, grain, gold, silver, jewels, ornaments, horses, elephants, chariots, vehicles, villages, cities, towns, lands, kingdoms, territories, royal palaces and their retinues, marketplaces, male and female servants, laborers, those who live on porridge, sons, daughters, and servants, what need is there to mention? To whatever sentient being, in whatever way, whatever is needed, should be given to them.' Regarding the giving of merit, the *Arya Vajradhvaja Sutra* states: 'With all roots of virtue, benefit all sentient beings, and with roots of virtue, think of them.' And 'May these roots of virtue become an endless source of pure Dharma, benefiting and helping all beings. Then, may these roots of virtue cut off the evil destinies of all sentient beings in the hell realms, and may the suffering masses of the animal realm, the place of rebirth, and the realm of Yama be completely eliminated.' Etc., generally explaining the way to give merit. In the *Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra*, the ways of giving merit in the three times (past, present, and future) are separately and extensively explained. Meditating on these three types of giving separately is the tradition of the previous masters, but for those who prefer short meditation sessions, I will now explain the method of giving the three—body, possessions, and merit—simultaneously in a vast manner. That is, clearly remember the motivation, such as the mind of enlightenment, and the reasons for meditating on giving, and the process of blessing the body as nectar, as described above. Then, visualize all your possessions and merits transforming into light, gradually dissolving into the nectar, making the color, smell, taste, and power of the nectar complete, becoming an inconceivable ocean of nectar that produces all desires. From that very nectar, like vapor rising from the sea, emanate great masses of light, forming clouds that fill the endless expanse of the ten directions' world realms. From those clouds, fall immeasurable rains of nectar, washing away all the containers and contents of samsara and nirvana. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
