First: To be endowed with the Three Inseparables. 'To be endowed with the Three Inseparables' means that some people, claiming to be Mahayana practitioners, abandon listening, thinking, and meditating, and engage in wrong suppression. Furthermore, it's not about doing nothing, but rather the body not being separated from circumambulating stupas, prostrating, serving the Guru and the Three Jewels; the speech not being separated from taking refuge, reciting, reading scriptures, etc.; and the mind not being separated from practicing and meditating. When practicing and reciting with the mind, do not fall asleep. It is said that this builds a wall to contemplate the Dharma. Furthermore, there is no need to confess sins. It is not about saying 'I want that' when wanting to take something from others. Even when taking something from others, one needs to abandon greed starting from the subtle aspects. For any evil thoughts that arise in the mind, one needs to have the courage to destroy them immediately. For example, just like how heretics kill any animals they encounter when performing magic. Any evil thoughts that arise should be dealt with immediately. In this way, by striving to practice good deeds with body, speech, and mind, just like adding wood to a burning fire, meditation will become more and more progressive. Second: Non-deteriorating conduct. 'Meditate on the three aspects of non-deterioration,' which means: Not deteriorating in reverence for the Guru; Not deteriorating in joy for practice; Not deteriorating in mindfulness of discipline. Through these three ways, meditation will become more and more progressive. Because all the qualities of the Mahayana depend on faith and reverence for the Guru. One should regard the Guru as the actual Buddha and always maintain unwavering reverence. If reverence deteriorates, it is like a dam collapsing. Just like drawing water with a span-long ditch, even if one loses faith and reverence for a single instruction of the Guru, the water of wisdom will not flow into one's mind. Losing faith and reverence not only breaks vows but also hinders the growth of one's own qualities, which is equivalent to breaking vows. In this regard, one should do one's best and not just think about it. One needs to generate a strong intention from the depths of one's heart. Not only towards the Guru, but one must also maintain unwavering reverence when interacting with anyone. As the saying goes, 'When interacting with anyone, be the worst, and maintain humility like the son of a beggar.' One should practice like this. It is not enough to merely think about maintaining reverence; one should maintain reverence for everyone, regardless of status, by contemplating the benefits and drawbacks of reverence and irreverence. Anyone who cannot get along with others or acquire skills is because of a lack of reverence for others. All the Dharma of the Mahayana depends on others, so reverence is very important. Not deteriorating in joy for practice.

The Ground (ས་པ་ནི།) If enthusiasm wanes, there will be no progress, so enthusiasm must be maintained. One must think that the essence of the Mahayana is a vibrant Buddha-seed, not to be mixed with any other Dharma, and to accept it with joy and enthusiasm. 1-432 It is not enough to merely think about being enthusiastic. Even when interacting with a dog, cultivate devotion and respect for it. If you don't cultivate it, there will be no Dharma. One must contemplate the benefits and drawbacks and then engage. Now, at the beginning, one doesn't grasp (the essence), and even if one grasps it, one forgets it. Even if one doesn't forget it, if the heart doesn't like it, it is because there is no enthusiasm. Therefore, one must always engage with enthusiasm. (The master) said that in terms of discipline, not losing mindfulness, starting from taking refuge, up to the lay vows, novice vows, full monk vows, aspiration and entering empowerment, for the vows that one has taken, one must not relax even for a moment. Now, if the discipline is not pure, even if one applies Dharma, it cannot grow. This is like thinking one has mindfulness and cutting off the root. No matter what Dharma one does, it will not succeed. Without pure discipline, one goes to a yogi, and then, like brewing alcohol, one lets all the laypeople say 'We have a good practitioner here,' thereby leading them to wrong views and throwing them into hell. So one must have mindfulness. The friends one relies on and associates with are also important. If one thinks 'Just this much won't be harmful,' or talks boastfully, or associates with those who don't like to talk about these things, it is impossible not to regress. 1-433 In Tibet, a Kadampa (བཀའ་གདམས་པ་, Kadampa, the Kadampa school) person and a dialectician traveled together. At first, the dialectician didn't like the Kadampa person. Later, he himself said 'I sometimes feel thirsty,' and then went to him to ask for alcohol. Similarly, (the master) spoke of three (ways of practice). The third is impartial and universal learning: 'Study in impartial places, cherish universal and profound understanding.' Because biased learning will not succeed, studying in impartial places will increase and develop. 'I am good at enduring ghosts, he is good at enduring people, I am more inclined towards emptiness, he is more inclined towards compassion,' these are all biased. The qualities of the noble ones are impartial, while all the qualities of ordinary beings are biased, this is the nature of Dharma. Due to individual differences, some appear in decline, while in prosperity they think 'There is no one above me,' like a dog in a fortress, becoming arrogant and disappearing. Some can persevere in prosperity, but in decline they say 'You haven't experienced my suffering, I am just like this temporarily,' unable to endure suffering. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
