It is not appropriate to give wealth as a substitute to those without faith. Then, generate the mind that is not attached to the things of this life and not afraid of the next life. Then, the power of aspiration: arrange offerings, confess transgressions, keep vows, and ask for forgiveness. Restore the vows of refuge, etc. Make offerings to the Three Jewels (藏文:དཀོན་མཆོག,Meaning: The Rare and Precious Ones), and offer Torma to the Dharmapalas. Remember the Bodhicitta (Byangchub-kyi-sem) in the Bardo and the next life. Pray and aspire to meet the Lama who teaches this Dharma, to practice this Dharma, and to practice mind training, etc. Then, the power of refutation: from beginningless time until now, it is self-grasping (藏文:བདག་འཛིན་) that has put us in suffering. Until this is exhausted, it will only bring suffering, so destroy it. What needs to be destroyed is the clinging to the body as self, so let the body vanish in the Bardo without taking it again. Likewise, let the sentient beings who cling to self vanish into the sky, this is the refutation of self-grasping. Then, the power of projecting: remember this Dharma in the Bardo. Repeatedly generate the wish to do so. Then, the power of habituation: especially remember what has been habituated before. Because it is the transference of the power of action, turn the right side of the body downwards. Rest the right hand on the cheek, block the right nostril with the little finger, and let the breath flow from the left. When exhaling, also follow the rhythm of breathing, practicing both exhaling and inhaling. In that instant, remember the deathless ultimate Bodhicitta (Byangchub-kyi-sem), and transfer in this state. Second, the conduct of one day: all yogas are done by one. That is to say, while other Dharmas speak of many yogas such as food yoga, here, all yogas of food, clothing, conduct, etc., are done by this one. How is it done? If food, clothing, etc., are abundant, then contemplate, 'May my happiness enable all sentient beings to have happiness'; if they are not abundant, then contemplate, 'May all the suffering of sentient beings' lack ripen upon me.' Like this, contemplate, etc. In the four conducts, train all the conduct of the six senses into giving and receiving. Or, as in the 'Sutra of Completely Pure Conduct' (spod yul yongs su dag pa'i mdo) or the 'Cloud of Jewels Sutra' (dkon mchog sprin gyi mdo), or as the Venerable Maitreya (Jetsun Jampa) said: 'When a prince acts, in whatever way, when the objects of the senses enter in various ways, in this way, with logically consistent words, for the benefit of sentient beings, cherish seeing it.' Having understood this, train the Bodhicitta (Byangchub-kyi-sem). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is done by the yogi. The third is the path-carrying of encountering: 'Immediately apply whatever you encounter to meditation.' This means that when you suddenly encounter humans, non-human beings, or animals, or when the objects of the six senses arise, you should immediately train yourself. Whether it is happiness or suffering, whether it is your own place or another's place, whether it is a monastery or a hermitage, whether it is walking or sitting, whether it is seeing or hearing, in all these objects of the senses, you should clearly distinguish between liking and disliking, and then give what you like to all sentient beings, and take what you dislike for yourself. This is also a training. As the saying goes, 'When you are full and the sun is shining, everyone is a hero.' When favorable conditions arise, even the lama will say good things, and friends will offer advice, and everything will go smoothly. But when you encounter adversity or bad things, or when the fruits of bad karma ripen, the vows will be lost, and others will despise you like a dog's corpse, or when leprosy breaks out, others will feel disgusted, and just seeing you will make them hold their noses and run away, and your children and houses will be occupied by others, and you will not even be able to find food, clothing, and shelter. Just like that solitary leper, when this happens, people will worry that you will give up the Dharma, so it is said that the Dharma is really needed at that time. Furthermore, whether it is quarreling, stealing, robbing, or unfavorable conditions, whether it is bad talk or insults, whatever happens, think that there are countless similar situations in the world, and generate compassion for them. When this happens, may all these misfortunes befall me, and may sentient beings not suffer such pain. Give your body, wealth, and all your merits to others, and may all sentient beings have happiness, joy, and good reputation. Because we do not know what will happen in this life, and we have no certainty about what will happen, and we do not know what kind of karma we will accumulate, so even if we encounter suffering like a mountain collapsing, do not complain, but endure suffering without abandoning the Dharma, and enjoy happiness without abandoning the Dharma. Without this, even one or two months of spring, summer, autumn, and winter cannot be harmonious. If you are a bhikshu, you will not find a capable assistant; if you are a shramanera, you will not find a mentor. Why? Because you do not have this. If you only think about yourself being high and mighty and everything being good, then you will... Seed Syllable (Tibetan:, Devanagari:, Romanized Sanskrit:, Literal Meaning:).
