The teachings of Also made some connections, and in order to facilitate memory, some connections are also made here, which can be summarized into three aspects: how to practice, the degree of practice, and the necessity of practice. The first aspect has three contents: the cause of arising, the method of non-regression, and the condition of growth. The cause of arising needs to be understood. The first aspect has three contents: the difference of preliminary motivation, the difference of main practice behavior, and the difference of subsequent happiness. The first is 'two things from beginning to end', that is, when getting up from bed at the beginning, make a wish that today I will subdue my ego-grasping, not be contaminated by self-love attachment, and not weaken the heart of loving others. Before going to bed at night, with the Samadhi of loving-kindness, reflect on what I did from the beginning today, and then what I did, and check all kinds of behaviors in turn. If I find anything that violates the Dharma, especially violates the practice of mind, I should 'blame myself at that time', remember the Guru's teachings, and think: 'It is sad for people like you who waste the leisure and fullness of human life and bring harm to themselves'. Then repent and vow not to do it again in the future. If the behavior is in accordance with the Dharma, then generate joy and think: 'I have not wasted the leisure and fullness of human life in vain, and I have not wasted time'. Then make a wish: 'With this merit, may I never be separated from Bodhicitta in all my lives'. When getting up in the morning, think: 'Today I will do better than yesterday', and it is very important to make a wish. When doing this, do not express it in words, just practice with your heart. When encountering enemies or serious illnesses, think as before. Relying on the blessings of the Guru and the Three Jewels, the power of the Dharma protectors, the roots of goodness of one's own three times, and the common merits of sentient beings, these four conditions should be diligently practiced at all times, just like adding wood to a burning fire. Wearing the armor of motivation like this, the difference of the main practice has three aspects: what needs to be understood, what needs to be abandoned, and what needs to be practiced. The first aspect has three contents: recognizing the enemy, recognizing right and wrong, and how to understand the meaning of the scriptures. What needs to be understood first is: all the faults belong to me, and all the kindness belongs to sentient beings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meditate on it as a great enemy. That is to say, from beginningless time, we have not recognized the enemy, have not distinguished what should be abandoned and what should be practiced, so that all practices have become clinging to the self, which is wrong. We have never been familiar with liberation and omniscience. Therefore, now we must recognize the enemy. What is that enemy? It is to regard oneself as an enemy and abandon it. 1-386 For sentient beings, there are only two attitudes: to regard them as objects to be conquered and to regard them as objects to be cherished. Among them, regarding clinging to the self as an enemy is as stated in 'All responsibilities lie with it.' No matter what unpleasant things happen, do not blame others. Just like a hermit who extracts butter from milk alone, and as a result, the butter goes bad, but he blames the beggar. Now we are the same, once unpleasant things happen, we blame the place is bad, the ghosts are causing trouble, the lama has not blessed us, etc., which is wrong. All responsibilities lie in clinging to the self, because relying on clinging to the self, as stated in 'If there is self, there will be others. From the distinction between self and others arise attachment and hatred. All these are related to sins, and all faults arise from this.' Therefore, whether unpleasant things arise from the external environment or from internal factors; whether it is from the punishment of the Buddha and Dharma protectors from above, or from the harm of lowly beggars; whether it is from the harm of sentient beings, or from the harm of lice; 1-387 Whether it is the harm of diseases such as wind, bile, and phlegm, one must understand that the root of all these lies in clinging to the self. Now, whether it is within the Sangha, among the Geshis, among brothers, between master and servant, between teacher and student, within the Kadampa, or the discord between patrons and benefactors, the root of all lies in clinging to the self. As long as there is self-grasping, one will only cherish oneself and throw everything else aside, which is the nature of all ordinary beings. Relying on this, all afflictions and sufferings will arise. As stated in the sutra: 'All harm, fear, and suffering in the world arise from clinging to the self. Then, what use is this great demon to me?'. All unpleasant things in the world arise from clinging to the self. Wherever one is born, one clings to this body, regards the selfless as self, and then in order to maintain this 'self', pursues what is desired and rejects what is not desired, and deceives and schemes against others, thereby generating afflictions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
