Furthermore, in the prayer of loving-kindness and offering, it is mentioned: 'From the peak of existence (Srid rtse) down to the Avici Hell (mnar med), may all the gods, demigods, and great belly-crawlers of all immeasurable worlds be happy, and may I take on their suffering.' Nagarjuna (Slob dpon klu sgrub) also said: 'May their sins ripen on me, and may all my virtues ripen on them.' Shantideva (Slob dpon zhi ba lhas) also said: 'I shall practice equality between myself and others, and the exchange of myself and others.' 'Recognizing that oneself is full of faults, and that others are like an ocean of virtues, one should completely abandon self-grasping and take on others, and practice in this way.' 'Anyone who wishes to quickly protect themselves and others should practice the secret and supreme method of exchanging themselves and others.' 'If one does not truly exchange one's own happiness for the suffering of others, one will not become a Buddha, and even in samsara there will be no happiness.' 'Therefore, in order to pacify my own harm and to pacify the suffering of others, I should give myself to others and protect others as I protect myself.' 'May all the sufferings of beings ripen on me.' Lord Maitreya (Rje btsun byams pas) said in the Ornament of the Sutras (mDo sde rgyan): 'With the mind of equality between oneself and others, having found the state of cherishing others more than oneself, one truly understands that benefiting others is the most supreme, where there is self-interest, there is the benefit of others.' 'If, with a compassionate heart, one willingly endures endless suffering for the sake of benefiting others, then even towards enemies who harm the world, one will not mercilessly inflict harm.' Ashvaghosa (Slob dpon rta dbyangs) said in the Seventy Verses of Aspiration: 'May I gladly take upon myself all the non-virtue of those beings whose minds are deluded by the poison of afflictions, and may I plunge into all the hells. May the world be filled with the nectar of peace and happiness, and may their minds be delighted. May I take upon myself all the sufferings of beings.' Vasubandhu (Slob dpon dbyig gnyen) said in the Garland of Birth Stories (Tshogs kyi gtam): 'One should offer one's own body and life to all beings, and pervade all sentient beings with loving-kindness and compassion. May the ripening of all sins be desired upon one's own being, rejoice in all merits, and contemplate the great Buddha.' 'One should offer one's own body and life' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Followed by the mind.’ And, ‘May all the sins of all sentient beings ripen upon me.’ Thus taking on sins, taking away the suffering of beings.’ And, ‘Taking all others as mine, and giving my own support to others.’ As stated by Master Asanga in the Bodhisattva Grounds. From the confession in the Chakrasamvara Tantra also: ‘May the suffering of all sentient beings ripen upon me, may my virtue bring them all to happiness. May my three doors be like jewels, wish-fulfilling vases, wish-fulfilling trees, etc., in all lifetimes.’ 1-378 And so on, many were said. Furthermore, if it is said that those of extinct lineage and Hearers and Solitary Realizers will not attain Buddhahood, then one might wonder if they cannot be placed in Buddhahood. That is intended for those of small minds, but in reality, it is impossible that they cannot be placed in Buddhahood, so one must be certain of this when training the mind in this way. The Sugata-garbha pervades all beings, the mind is vast and supremely generated, all these beings are the cause of Buddhahood, there is no sentient being here who is not a vessel. And, Because there is no distinction in the realm of Dharma, lineage cannot be different. And, Likewise, Suchness is in all, without distinction, but purified, therefore the Tathagata is its nature, all beings have its essence. And, The complete Buddha body is emanated, and inseparable from Suchness, because there is lineage, all embodied beings always have the essence of Buddhahood. Therefore, contemplate on all sentient beings, and when doing so on any sentient being, think of those who commit the ten non-virtuous actions and the five boundless deeds, and those who cause conflict in the community that destroys the teachings from the root. Like a mother who gives special care to a sick son, likewise, a Bodhisattva is especially loving to those who are not virtuous. Or, Not knowing that the work of a great person is samsara, not knowing that those of extinct lineage are the main objects of taming, alas, even to myself. One should understand it in this way, and through giving and taking, all sentient beings have the complete cause and condition for attaining Buddhahood, and thus contemplate all sentient beings attaining Buddhahood. It is said that the order of taking is: The order of taking begins with oneself. That is, for some individuals who have not trained their minds through hearing, thinking, and meditating, and who are very attached to themselves, if they are afraid of taking on the suffering of others, then they should first learn to take on their own suffering, from beginningless time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
