In order to attain liberation, Bodhisattvas should train in all precepts, including: The precept of abstaining from negative actions, The precept of accumulating virtuous dharmas, The precept of benefiting sentient beings, which are summarized into three categories for practice. Secondly, regarding the individual vows, the first of the five Buddha family vows is that of Vairochana (梵文:Vairocana, meaning 'the illuminator'): The external symbolic Three Jewels refer to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha that exist in the minds of others. The internal Three Jewels of meaning refer to one's own mind, free from elaboration, which is the Dharmakaya Buddha. Knowing it as it is, is the Dharma Jewel. Practicing through knowing it as it is, is the Sangha Jewel. One must take refuge in these from the depths of one's heart. Secondly, the vow of Akshobhya (梵文:Akshobhya, meaning 'the Immovable One'): The symbolic implements are the vajra and bell, as well as the painted or sculpted image of the deity. The vajra, in terms of meaning, represents the method of great compassion, and the bell represents the wisdom of emptiness, the method of realizing reality. Meditating on oneself as the deity is the vow of the mudra body. The vajra master who teaches these is to practice Guru Yoga properly. Thirdly, the vow of Ratnasambhava (梵文:Ratnasambhava, meaning 'the Jewel-Born'): The giving of Dharma, the giving of material goods, the giving of fearlessness, and the giving of love—these four types of giving should be practiced three times during the day and three times during the night. Fourthly, the vow of Amitabha (梵文:Amitabha, meaning 'Infinite Light'): The outer conduct, the inner Yoga Tantra, and the secret Anuttarayoga Tantra—in short, all the sacred Dharma of the three vehicles, that is, all the teachings spoken by the fully enlightened Buddhas, one should vow to uphold. Fifthly, the vow of Amoghasiddhi (梵文:Amoghasiddhi, meaning 'Unfailing Success'): Upholding all the vows previously taken, accomplishing as much as possible the work of offering to the Three Jewels, and taking refuge in the Three Jewels can be included in the vow of Vairochana, because Vairochana is the Dharmakaya, whose essence is the purity of discipline. Taking refuge is the root of all vows, just as the Buddha's body is the basis for speech and mind, and discipline is the basis for all qualities. What Vairochana purifies is the delusion of ignorance regarding cause and effect, which is purified by taking refuge with strong faith. Holding the three vows can be included in the vow of Akshobhya, because Akshobhya's essence is mind, which is pure samadhi. And the teacher who teaches these three vows --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holding the vows and the deities is to meditate on Samadhi (concentration). Furthermore, for the immovable object of purification, one needs Samadhi that is the antidote to the nature of distraction. Meditating on these four is supreme. Furthermore, the immovable object of purification—hatred—is purified by both relative Bodhicitta and ultimate Bodhicitta. The four kinds of giving, that is, giving, There is a reason for establishing it as the Samaya of Ratnasambhava (the Jewel-born One). Ratnasambhava is the nature of qualities, pure giving. Just as jewels fulfill wishes, Ratnasambhava fulfills the wishes of sentient beings through the four kinds of giving, thereby counteracting the object of purification—stinginess. Holding the sacred Dharma of the three vehicles, There is a reason for establishing it as the Samaya of Amitabha (Limitless Light). Amitabha is the pure nature of speech's patience. The sacred Dharmas are the nature of speech, and among patience, The most important is the patience of definitely thinking about the Dharma, and through it, the object of purification—desire—is counteracted. Holding the vows previously taken, and accomplishing offerings as much as possible, There is a reason for establishing it as the Samaya of Amoghasiddhi (Unfailing Accomplishment). Amoghasiddhi is the nature of action, pure diligence. One must maintain vows and make offerings through diligence, Through guarding vows and performing good deeds such as offerings, one counteracts the objects of purification—bad karma and jealousy, etc. Third, in brief, guarding the vows is for the sake of all sentient beings attaining the state of perfect and complete enlightenment. For that purpose, all the great practices of the sons and daughters of the Buddhas, the Bodhisattvas, including the two stages of the path and their retinues, should be summarized and practiced. By practicing these, liberate Brahma and Indra (Hundred-fold) etc., who have not been liberated from the suffering of Samsara, liberate the Shravakas (Hearers) and Pratyekabuddhas (Solitary Realizers) etc., who have not been freed from the bonds of cognitive obscurations, Allow the beings of the three lower realms etc., who have not yet taken a breath of relief from suffering, to take a breath of relief, and ultimately, settle all sentient beings in non-abiding Nirvana. After reciting this three times, visualize the deities of the assembly field saying: 'Son of noble family, if you abide in this state, You will have the opportunity to attain supreme accomplishments, therefore practice the two stages of the path.' Visualize the deities of the assembly field dissolving into non-objectification. Accumulating merit based on impure objects, as the root Tantra says: First is loving-kindness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
