Because they eat their own flesh, they are extremely foolish; because their tongues are dumb, they cannot express any meaningful information other than a single sound; moreover, there are unimaginable sufferings such as devouring each other. Similarly, humans have birth, old age, sickness, and death; Asuras have conflicts; gods have carelessness; and the intermediate state has the suffering of illusions. In short, the sufferings of the six realms or seven existences are countless, unbearable in nature, and endless. In this life, there are also the king's punishment, the malice of subjects, the harm of enemies, thieves, and robbers, the fear of fire, water, and cliffs. Without wealth, there is the suffering of not finding food and drink; even with wealth, there is the suffering of not being able to possess it, all of which are unimaginable. The fear of internal diseases such as wind, bile, and phlegm causes the body to shrink. The five poisons, which are inconsistent with the secret Dharma, arise involuntarily. At the time of death, one is tormented by severe pain and cannot remember the Lama and Yidam. Bad death circumstances lead to bad connections of aspirations. Furthermore, the body, speech, and mind are tormented by evil spirits, etc., which are unimaginable sufferings of existence. On the path, ordinary people cannot find the path, heretics go astray, arrogant people destroy the path, Shravakas abandon the path, Shravaka-Pratyekabuddhas have a narrow path, and Bodhisattvas entering the Paramitas stray from the path, etc., all of which are fears. In the result, the result of bad karma is rebirth in the three lower realms and other six realms. The result of thinking only of oneself is falling into the realm of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Clearly, the container and its contents are gods and palaces, but not knowing this and clinging to the ordinary is the fear of clinging to ordinary appearances. Clearly knowing that the container and its contents are gods and palaces, but not knowing their nature and clinging to the signs is the fear of clinging to false gods. To seek refuge from these fears, one takes refuge because of the cause of fear. Taking refuge with compassion is because there is not a single being in the six realms who has not been my parent. These kind parents, with their minds disturbed by afflictions, are drowning in the mud of ignorance, enjoying suffering and the non-virtuous deeds that are the cause of suffering. I pity them and hope they quickly find refuge. Taking refuge with faith is because the objects of refuge possess wisdom, compassion, and power. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having virtues, this is because if there is no wisdom, it is like a blind person leading a blind person. Even if there is wisdom but no compassion, it is like a beggar starving to death at the gate of a rich man's house. Even if there is compassion but no power, it is like the child of an incompetent mother being washed away by the water. So, how do the refuge places (referring to the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha) possess the three virtues of wisdom, compassion, and power? Wisdom refers to the object of refuge, myself and sentient beings of the six realms such as parents, the suffering they each experience, what causes it? What conditions trigger it? When does it mature? How painful is the current feeling? When can they be liberated? Everything they think and say can be known simultaneously. In addition, they can understand the interdependence of cause and effect, such as the sharpness of thorns, the roundness of beans, the patterns of tigers and leopards, the beauty of peacock feathers, etc., all causal relationships can be understood. In short, they have the wisdom to see the past, present, and future without obstruction, and the wisdom without attachment. Compassion refers to loving all sentient beings like a mother loves her child. Power refers to each time the Dharma is preached, each time light is emitted and retracted, countless sentient beings can be saved in an instant. The tip of a single hair can absorb all the water droplets of the four great oceans, and the three thousand great thousand worlds can be contained in a mustard seed, and the mustard seed will not become larger, and the world will not become smaller. These are all inconceivable powers and abilities, so one should take refuge with faith as the cause. The way to take refuge is: to regard the Buddha as the teacher who shows the way, to regard the Dharma as the real path, and to regard the Sangha as the companion on the path. From what time to what time do you take refuge? From today until you attain Buddhahood. The objects of refuge are: myself and sentient beings of the six realms such as parents. The refuge places (Gurus) are: the collection of the Three Jewels. The Buddha is: the main deity Vajrakumara (Dorje Shönnu, Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་གཞོན་ནུ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: कुमारवज्र, Sanskrit Romanization: kumaravajra, Chinese literal meaning: Youthful Vajra) Father and Mother, and the collection of other Buddhas' three bodies. The Dharma is: mainly the tantras, scriptures, and oral instructions of Vajrakumara, and all Mahayana Buddhism. The Noble Sangha is: mainly the Ten Wrathful Deities, Tara, the Gate of Means, the Supreme Son, etc., and Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Dharma Protectors, Wealth Gods, etc. These are the objects of refuge. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
