When the occasion arises for debate and refutation, presenting arguments unrelated to the topic is because it is an attack and counterattack. This is entirely revealing faults. Meaningless is like showing the order of letters, it is meaningless. For example, sound is permanent because it is itself ja pa ga da da. Like jha bha gha dha ddha. If it is said like this, because the argument is not shown, this is considered a refutation of 'other meaning'. But this is not the case, because when the occasion arises to present an argument, presenting an irrelevant order of letters, therefore, refuting the attacker who speaks of non-argument components, is precisely the basis of refutation. Not understanding the meaning is like saying three times to the assembly and the refuter, the assembly and the refuter do not understand the meaning, that is not understanding the meaning. For example, even if it is said three times, the assembly and the refuter do not understand, speaking of tainted, unknown, and repetitive things, this is considered a refutation of 'not understanding the meaning'. But this is not the case, because at that time the attacker presents seemingly argumentative repetitions, etc., or even if presented correctly, the refuter, etc., does not understand. If it is like the first case, because this attacker speaks of a flawed argument when the occasion arises to present an argument, therefore, refuting the attacker who speaks of non-argument components is refutation. If the attacker speaks meaningful words up to three times, but the refuter still does not understand, then at that time the attacker is not refuted. 'Meaningless' is like saying that because there is a connection between the before and after, not having a connection is meaningless. For example, like the statement about ten apples. Presenting irrelevant arguments is considered another refutation of 'meaningless'. But this is not the case, because this is also included in the previous refutation of 'meaningless', therefore, speaking of non-argument components, is included in the basis of the attacker being refuted. If it is said that the previous refutation is irrelevant letters, and this is irrelevant words, so it is not included there. Then there must also be other refutations of irrelevant speech, which would be excessive. 'Untimely' is like saying that if the components are spoken in reverse order, that is untimely. That is, the components are the five components of speech for reasoning for others, therefore, reversing the order, such as saying the promise at the end, if reversing the order of speech, this is considered a refutation of 'untimely'. But this is not the case --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Therefore, even if the order of words is reversed, if the meaning is understood, and there is no error in sound, understanding, and meaning, then it is not a refutation. If reversing the order of words impairs the beauty of Sanskrit and is inconsistent with the Vedas, thinking that this is a refutation, then Sanskrit is not necessarily the only correct one, as it may lead to misunderstanding. Similarly, it can be understood from the language of ordinary people, dialects, beggars, and remote areas. Therefore, if the meaning is not understood and the order of words is reversed, then the former is contrary to the meaning, so stating a non-component of the argument, the opponent will be refuted. Incompleteness should not be considered a defect. Incompleteness means lacking any component. For example, not explicitly stating the vow to infer for the benefit of others is considered stating incompleteness, and the opponent will be refuted. No, for the two components of speech, incompleteness can be considered a defect, but for an explicitly stated vow, incompleteness should not be considered a defect. However, not explicitly stating the vow should not be considered incomplete, because even without it, there is a correct argument and inference. Therefore, the words of the vow cannot be a component of the argument. If stating incomplete speech in a particular situation, then it includes stating a non-component of the argument. This does not seem to be the intention of the scholar. Stating excessiveness means excessive reason and example. That is, stating excessive reason and example is considered a refutation of stating excessiveness. But this is not the case, we believe that for a definite thing like having two arguments, stating excessive speech, the opponent will be refuted because it is stating a non-component of the argument. You should not consider excessive statements as refutations, because it is a variety of stories, so excessive speech will not become a defect. Repetition means repeating sound and meaning in addition to repetition. That is, 'sound is impermanent, sound is impermanent,' this is the repetition of sound. 'Sound is impermanent, it has the characteristic of preventing vultures,' this is the repetition of meaning. Such repetition is considered another refutation. But this is not the case, if the meaning is not repeated, then the repetition of sound will not become a defect. For example, 'when the master is strong, he will roar, when he cries, he will cry very much, put on clothes and sweat'. 3-637 3-638 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
