Furthermore, there are two types of Kṣānti (忍, patience): one that arises after the path of a Pratyekabuddha (缘觉, Solitary Realizer), and another that arises after the path of a Śrāvaka (声闻, Hearer). 2-774 For Agra-dharma (最胜法, Supreme Dharma), there are also a definition and two classifications: it is the entry into liberation that arises after the completion of the continuum of Kṣānti (忍, patience) and before the arising of the Darśanamārga (见道, Path of Seeing) of a Pratyekabuddha. The second classification has three types. All of these have two types of Śamatha-vipaśyanā (止观, Calm Abiding and Insight). Third, regarding the Darśanamārga (见道, Path of Seeing) of a Pratyekabuddha, there are four classifications: the classification of what is to be abandoned by the Darśanamārga of a Pratyekabuddha, the classification of the antidote Darśanamārga, the classification of the fruit of what is abandoned, and the classification of the Pudgala (补特伽罗, person) who abides therein. Among these, the first has a definition and two classifications. The first is that which is to be abandoned, residing in the category of what is to be destroyed by the Anantaryamārga (无间道, Immediate Path) of the Darśanamārga of a Pratyekabuddha. The second classification has six types: Parikalpita-vikalpa (遍计分别, conceptual imputation), Nirvikalpa-vikalpa (清净的分别, non-conceptual imputation), the imputation of grasping forms and other things as distinct entities, the imputation of the habitual tendencies of afflictions, the imputation of being conceited about one's own realization, and the imputation of completely losing what has been attained. Second, regarding the antidote Darśanamārga, there are three aspects: definition, classification, and qualities. The first is: the entry into the liberation of a Pratyekabuddha, which is a thorough distinction of the Abhisamaya (现观, direct realization) of the Satya (真谛, Truth). The second classification, from the perspective of essence, includes the sixteen moments of Jñāna-kṣānti (智忍, Knowledge-patience) and Dharma-kṣānti (法忍, Dharma-patience). 2-775 From the perspective of the object of observation, there are two types of Darśanamārga (见道, Path of Seeing) of a Pratyekabuddha: one that realizes the Dharma-nairātmya (法无我, selflessness of phenomena), and another that only realizes the Pudgala-nairātmya (人无我, selflessness of person). The first is like the horn of a rhinoceros (Khaḍgaviṣāṇa, 犀牛角), and the Darśanamārga that has certainty. Because in the Saṃbhāramārga (资粮道, Path of Accumulation), the Dharma-nairātmya is determined through hearing and thinking; in the Prayogamārga (加行道, Path of Application), it is meditated upon in the manner of a general meaning, so in the Darśanamārga it is seen directly. The second is like the Darśanamārga that is preceded by a Pṛthagjana (异生, ordinary being), and the Darśanamārga that is preceded by a Śrāvaka (声闻, Hearer). Because in the stage of the Saṃbhāramārga, the Dharma-nairātmya is not determined through hearing and thinking. Because that Saṃbhāramārga is the Saṃbhāramārga of a Śrāvaka, not the Saṃbhāramārga of a Pratyekabuddha. There, because it is not determined through hearing and thinking, it is not meditated upon in the manner of a general meaning in the Prayogamārga. Because it is not meditated upon there, it will not become direct in the Darśanamārga. Then, will it become no different from the Darśanamārga of a Śrāvaka? It is not without difference, although there is no difference in realizing the Pudgala-nairātmya, there is a difference in realizing the Dvādaśāṅga-pratītyasamutpāda (十二缘起, Twelve Links of Dependent Origination) without relying on the instructions of other teachers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
