Having practiced, they went to India. It is said that at that time, Lama Phamthingpa had five spiritual brothers, all disciples of the glorious Co-emergent Vajra (Lhanchik Kyepai Dorje). They were: the eldest brother Lama Chitherwa, followed by Gelong Jigme Drakpa, then Wangpo Thangchungpa, the fourth was Sherab Sangpo, and the fifth was Vagishvara. These brothers lived together, and the younger brothers requested a Tsok Khor (assembly wheel) from them. They repeatedly requested Tsok Khor from Je Bentawa and prayed, seeing him in a dream and feeling very happy. They requested to go and search for Je Naropa. Je Bentawa said, 'It is too late to go now, it is not just a matter of seeing him, his body has disappeared like a rainbow, and he may not be found. If you must go, I can help.' So they went to India and asked lamas such as Je Mitriwa and special spiritual brothers. They said, 'Searching may not necessarily find him, it is better to pray.' So they held Tsok Khor and offerings, prayed, and asked the close attendants and friends to pray and appear in dreams, each receiving predictions of seeing the guru in their dreams. First were friends Prajnyarakrita and others, as well as Kashmir Jnyanakara, Kashmir Akarasiddhi, and the easterner Jnyanakara, who said: 'A charming woman glances sideways into a mirror, a Garuda bird carries him flying north, a boatman is rowing. You will meet the glorious Naropa.' Lama Mitriwa, after holding a month-long Tsok Khor, prayed and said: 'A dakini is looking into a mirror, Naropa rides a Garuda, raising a victory banner. I dream of the Garuda's head pointing towards Tibet, you will surely meet the glorious Naropa.' After that, they requested Tsok Khor from Lama Glorious Shiwazangpo, who had requested the Great Illusion Net (Sgyu 'Phrul Chen Mo), and he said: 'Venerable glorious Naropa, watching with the gaze of an elephant, from his eyes rays of sunlight and moonlight shine towards Tibet. You will meet the glorious Naropa, and you will receive a unique secret instruction.' After that, they offered one hundred and eight Tsok Khor to the dakini who had requested the Four Vajra Seats, the one with water and tree sprouts, and she said: 'Blowing a conch shell from the peak of Mount Meru, leading the way at the intersection of three valleys, with a butter lamp burning inside a vase, illuminating the entire world. You will meet the glorious Naropa.' The attendant Daktshul Sherab Senge, after holding a month-long Tsok Khor, said: 'I am in great sorrow, leading a blind man.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He showed, by removing the defects of dimness, dreamed of showing the mirror of the mind, and prophesied that he would surely meet with glorious Nāropā (Indian Buddhist master). The previous life was also like that, Je Nāropā was an excellent teacher. Marpa (founder of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism) was a king of Dharma with lineage (Rigs ldan chos kyi rāja, Dharma King with noble lineage). That was the lama of that time. Later, in order to follow in all lifetimes, let the powerful Brahmin Gewa Zangpo (dbang po bram ze dge ba bzang po, powerful Brahmin Good Auspicious) be the witness. He knew with clairvoyance that those two were Riripa and Kasoripa. It was prophesied that they would meet no matter what. After that, he offered a tsokhor (gathering circle) to Lama Riripa, who said: 'In the past life, the King of Dharma with lineage prayed to Brahmin Zangzhap, establishing Gewa Zangpo as a witness, this fruit will come, there will be no not meeting.' Again, he offered a tsokhor to Lama Kasoripa, who said: 'With the completely pure mandala of the moon, the mirror of the Dharmakaya of mind itself, the unmoving Pulahari (place name), became the teacher of Nāropa.' After that, he went to Metok Monastery (me tog gi dgon pa, Flower Monastery), and that night, Lama Nāropa riding a lion, attended on the left and right by two women named Chagya Ma Nyenamatrisi and Gunamatisi, flying in the sky, he saw and prayed, and a voice came from the sky: 'I Nāro am the non-dual Yuganaddha (gnyis med zung 'jug, non-dual union), relying on the two Mudras (phyag rgya gnyis kyi mtha' rten nas), symbolizing skillful means and wisdom, riding a lion, dancing and singing above the sun and moon, isn't it the delusion of a dream?' After that, that day looking at the sky, the body appeared clearly like a rainbow, praying there, he said: 'If the uninterrupted devotion is like a horse, if not urged by the whip of diligence, then the grasping and the grasped beasts, won't they be bound by the real?' After saying that, he left. Even running could not reach, even seeing was not allowed to stay. The body became very tired, so he cried out, 'Alas! Jetsun (rje btsun, venerable one)!' Praying: 'Alas! Jetsun! Do you not look with compassion? Are you going to abandon the helpless? Life will be dedicated to you, please look upon this ignorant one!' After praying like this, he saw again the Lama walking naked beside a black mountain, so he went there, entered a stone enclosure, and the body remained there, everything was like an illusion, clear emptiness non-dual. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
