Someone asked: 'Do you have a supreme lineage? Please tell us about the special qualities of this lineage and the perfect virtues it possesses.' 3-422 In response, he said: 'The supreme direction, transformed with seventy-two eyes, clarified by knowledge, hands offered to the fire. Its light shines everywhere, descending into the water treasury.' If the wise understand this meaning, let them speak! Later, he incorporated this into the emptiness teachings. However, no one has explained it. Once, when the great Vidyadhara Rinpoche Kyeltshe's saint was in retreat in a cave, Dharma Lord Kunkhyen went to visit. Although the retreat was strict, he was happy to receive Dharma Lord Kunkhyen and only talked about profound meanings. Dharma Lord Kunkhyen asked: 'Do you understand the coded words you gave to Ramdingmawa? This is very important.' The Vidyadhara replied: 'I do not understand.' Then, he repeatedly recited: 'Ah, the supreme direction.' As soon as he arrived in Sakya, he prayed devoutly in front of the statue of Je Pa built by Naropa Pandita Shenyingpo. The meaning of the coded words clearly appeared in his mind, and he composed 'The Explanation of the Coded Words that Bestows Certainty.' Similarly, Choje Dorje Gyaltsen and Serpa Kunlo also made some explanations. But according to the tradition of our lineage, as the great Vidyadhara Vajradhara said, the supreme refers to: 3-423 The supreme tantra, or the Dharma related to the supreme. 'Direction' refers to the number ten, which is ten. 'Mountain' refers to seven, multiplied by ten, which is seventy. 'Eyes' refers to two, which is seventy-two. 'Knowledge' refers to four. This indicates the close lineage of both the supreme tantra and the oral instructions. Therefore, the tantra is clarified through four methods of explanation, and the oral instructions are clarified through four whispered lineages. The two hands refer to the Yogishvara offering the fire, which is the third great Sakyapa, to him. The light of his activities shines in all directions, descending upon the fourth water treasury, which is Padmasambhava, and descending upon the fifth emanation, which is Jetsun Rinpoche himself. This explains the meaning of the second coded word, indicating when and how the close lineage arose. Such a great master, as well as his sons Jetsun brothers, nephews Choje Paku brothers, Jamyang Donyo Gyaltsen brothers, these seven are known as the Seven Jamyang Lineages in the Sakyapa lineage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since they are the same, the effort to seek the difference in their qualities is meaningless for those with intelligence. However, in order to suit the perception of those to be tamed, here is a brief introduction to how the wondrous aspects were appropriately shown. These miracles were told separately on different occasions. For example, the Great Lama himself manifested six emanations in this world, benefiting limitless beings. He comprehended all the profound essentials of the sutras and tantras from Mañjuśrī and Virūpa, and taught and guided them. Once, a Khampa said, 'If you do not openly show the sign that you are Avalokiteśvara, I will kill myself here.' Having said that, he stabbed a knife into his heart. The Lama said, 'No need to do that, look at this.' Then he showed an eye from the palm of his hand, and so on. When showing the manner of passing away, Cakrasamvara appeared from the cremation house. No matter which direction one looked from, most people saw it as having four faces. When Geshe Zangri Phukpa circumambulated it, it turned its face towards him. Some even saw it as Hevajra with eight faces. When the ashes were scattered in the lake, the entire mandala of Cakrasamvara appeared clearly in the lake. This is what is now known as Kumbum Jampa Ling, with the mandala of Cakrasamvara painted on it as a symbol. Later, it was said that it was formed from the smoke of the cremation. It is said that the Great Lama manifested four emanations, respectively in Sukhāvatī, Potala, Oḍḍiyāna, and the Golden Land, and then passed away. The reasons for this are: the Sambhogakāya of Avalokiteśvara is in Sukhāvatī, the Nirmāṇakāya is in Potala; Oḍḍiyāna is where the dakinis expanded the tantras; and the arrival of the son Jetsun was for the purpose of purifying that pure land. This was said by Zhuchey Ngödrup. So, how did this great Sakya Lama spread the oral teachings? In his early fifties, the seal of the teachings imparted by Zhang was opened. Around the time he reached his fifties, a Khampa from Do Kham named Aseng, named Kyura Akyab, who had only completed the first stage of instruction from Lama Zhang. The Great Lama and he were closely related as teacher and student. This person's nephew or son requested the Lamdre teachings through a reliable source, and so the seal of the oral teachings was opened, the circumstances were complete, and the precious oral teachings began to be imparted. The earliest written text was also the Asengma requested by him, which is the written record of the Lamdre. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
