If these are explained first, it is easy to understand, so it is explained twice. Then, why doesn't it explain the three aspects of base, path, and fruit experienced by practitioners through practice here? It is not that it is not explained, but because the classification of the base (Four Noble Truths), path (Five Paths), and fruit (Three Kayas) experienced by practitioners through practice is a unique characteristic of inner Buddhism, so it will be explained in the chapter on direct perception observation. In addition, there is a reason for the arrangement of the number and order of these eleven chapters: In order to serve as a component of enhancing and eliminating doubts about the correct cognition of knowledge, the first seven chapters are arranged. In order to explain the nature of the correct cognition of knowledge, the chapter on definition observation is arranged. In order to explain the eight meanings of terms in logic, the last three chapters are arranged. The latter chapters are established because in the direct perception observation, the correct and similar aspects of direct perception are explained; in the self-benefit inference observation, the correct and similar aspects of inference are explained; in the other-benefit inference observation, the correct and similar aspects of valid arguments and refutations are explained, a total of four aspects. If these points are not understood, Jetsun Tāranātha of the Jonang school said in 'Light of Reason': 'These later scholars of logic are not even proficient in the order of the treatises on valid cognition, let alone others. Because it is reasonable to start with valid cognition to determine, but they start with secondary objects of discussion such as objects, and explain valid cognition as an incidental content.' This refutation of the explanation method of 'Treasury of Reasoning' is due to one's own lack of understanding. When establishing the valid cognition of knowledge, it is necessary to have three conditions of action, agent, and function that are not deceptive. In order to enhance and eliminate doubts about which object the action does not deceive, it is necessary to observe the object; in order to enhance and eliminate doubts about which mind the agent does not deceive, it is necessary to observe the mind; in order to enhance and eliminate doubts about the result of how the function does not deceive, five chapters are needed, namely the first seven chapters. Just like pointing out the runway first so that the horse can run unimpeded, in order to easily obtain certainty about the nature of the valid cognition of knowledge, this is a very excellent explanation method. If not, why mainly explain objects and so on, and explain valid cognition as an incidental content? If it is said that because objects and so on are explained first, and valid cognition is explained later, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, when you explain the guiding principles, etc., shouldn't you first explain the actual guiding principles and then explain those known as the preliminary parts? For that reason. The actual text includes: explaining the meaning of the title and the praise. The third part is to explain the actual text with numbers, order, and classification, which is divided into three parts: 2-705 To make the terminology beautiful, the meaning of the title is explained; to increase merit, the praise is explained; and to generate certainty, the content of the text is explained. The first part includes: translation, explanation, and homage. The first part is: the name of this treatise is called 'The Treasury of Reasoning on Valid Cognition (Tshad ma Rigs pa'i gTer),' and if combined with the Sanskrit name, it is Pramana, etc. Pramana means valid cognition, Yukti means reasoning, and Nidhi refers to treasury, hence it is called 'The Treasury of Reasoning on Valid Cognition.' The reason for naming it this way is also because it is the source of immaculate reasoning for all treatises on valid cognition. Such translation and conforming homage is paying homage to Arya Manjushri, etc., to pacify obstacles. The second part is divided into three parts: praising the root guru, praising the lineage gurus, and explaining the necessary reasons for composing the treatise. The first part is: at the beginning of composing this treatise, there is a way to praise the Kashmiri Pandit, praising the three qualities of wisdom, compassion, and power, praising through the adornment of nature. That is, praising knowing all knowable things, etc. The second part is: when composing the treatise, there is a way to praise the lineage gurus Dignaga and Dharmakirti, praising the Dragon King through the adornment of having form with five characteristics. 2-706 The metaphor here is the two lords of reasoning, likened to the form of the Dragon King, praised by combining them through poetry. The Dragon King is adorned with jewels on the crown of his head, possesses the two powers of the tongue of poison, and emits the sound of wind from his mouth. The rays of poison are unbearable to others. Just as it has five characteristics that make the great ocean not dry up and become beautiful, the two lords of reasoning are also adorned with the jewel of the qualities of scripture and reasoning on the crown of their intelligence, possess the two abilities to distinguish the two truths, emit the sound of emptiness, that is, the sound of the emptiness of selflessness and grasping. The rays of wisdom and compassion are unbearable to other opponents. Making the ocean of intelligent holders of the doctrine not dry up and become beautiful, therefore it is likened to the Dragon King.
