Ninth, regarding the collection of distinctions: A natural collection formed to distinguish its own category, for example, to distinguish categories, 'Dharma' is Samsara and Nirvana; For collection, for example, 'earth, water, fire, and wind' are 'elements'. Tenth root, a collection that briefly indicates direction: A collection of words that gathers its own direction and abandons other directions, for example, the term 'Cittamatra' gathers the types of mind and abandons matter, etc. Third, a particle itself does not have much indicative power, but when combined with other words, it can play a supporting role, like an adhesive that joins two metals. A few examples are given: As stated in 'The Door of Expression': 'Te (སྟེ་) indicates remainder, connection, commitment, and dependence on others, having these three meanings.' Therefore, the particle 'te (སྟེ་)' is a word that indicates remainder, and it has three usages: such as 'smiling te (སྟེ་) radiant', which is connection; 'prostrating te (སྟེ་) composing scriptures', which is commitment; 'in the east there is Ishvara te (སྟེ་) in the south there is Yama', which is dependence on others. Also, such as: 'Las (ལས་) indicates cause, source, and distinction, having these four meanings.' Therefore, the particle 'las (ལས་)' has three usages: such as 'from the seed las (ལས་) sprouts emerge', which is cause; 'from the mountain las (ལས་) gold emerges', which is source; 'from a householder las (ལས་) becomes a layperson', which is distinction. Also, such as: 'Kyi (ཀྱི་) indicates relation, kyis (ཀྱིས་) indicates agent.' Therefore, the particle 'kyi (ཀྱི་)' is a word that indicates the sixth relation, such as 'Devadatta kyi (ཀྱི་) horse'. Adding the sound 'sa' to this sixth word is incorrect. The particle 'kyis (ཀྱིས་)' is a word that indicates the third agent, such as 'Devadatta kyis (ཀྱིས་) composed a good saying'. Omitting the sound 'sa' from this third word is incorrect. Therefore, if one wants to be wise, distinguishing the various usages of particles is crucial, but it is omitted here due to space limitations. Second root, distinguishing the expressing sound from the perspective of the expressed meaning, divided into: sound expressing category and sound expressing collection. These two each have definition, example, and fourfold analysis. The first, the audible sound capable of understanding the universal category, is the definition of the sound expressing category. The audible sound capable of understanding the universal collection, is the definition of the sound expressing collection. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second, the basis of the definition is like the word 'thing'. If you are a general term for a category, then saying 'you' covers the category word. Saying 'bottle' is the basis of a collection word, because if you are a general term for a collection, then saying 'you' covers the collection word. The difference between these two words is that a category word needs to express an object that does not exclude the category, because the word 'thing' does not exclude all categories of things. Its meaning is not that if it is a thing, then it covers the expression object of the word 'thing'. The main expression object of the word 'thing' is the thing itself, and because the category of things includes all things, therefore, the word 'thing' cannot explicitly exclude the category of things such as bottles from its expression object. A collection word excludes the owner of the collection as an expression object, because the word 'shape of a bottle' excludes smells, etc. that are the same as its collection as expression objects. The main expression object of 'shape of a bottle' is the shape of the bottle, and because the shape of the bottle contradicts smells, etc., therefore, the word 'shape of a bottle' can explicitly exclude smells, etc. from the expression object. Third, the calculation of the four sentences is that saying 'knowable' is a category word, but not a collection word. Saying 'pillar and bottle' is a collection word, but not a category word. Saying 'bottle' is both. Saying 'rabbit horn' is neither. The fundamental third is to distinguish from the way of expression, divided into attribute words and words with attributes. For these two types of words, there are three aspects: definition, synonym, and basis. First, the auditory object that excludes other characteristics is the definition of an attribute word. The auditory object that does not exclude other characteristics is the definition of a word with attributes. Second, synonyms are: attribute words separated from attribute words and words with attributes, antonyms separated from antonyms and non-antonyms, and thing words separated from thing words and material words. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
