Regarding the explanation: 'Characteristics such as 'cause' need to be eliminated, not relying on anything, and not universally present. Because there are contradictions and situations to be avoided, the characteristics of direction are explained.' So, how do these five parts eliminate the faults of the correct direction in other tenets? The knowable (dharma, things) by nature, these five parts of the characteristic can eliminate the faults of non-pervasiveness and over-pervasiveness in other tenets, because its parts, namely itself, phrases, the word of the entity, and the word including exclusion, can eliminate the contradictions and over-pervasiveness in other tenets. And its part, the word 'intention', can eliminate the fault of non-pervasiveness in it. The first argument is established, because its word 'self' eliminates that the intention of the author of the treatise, which the former opponent himself admitted at that time, is the correct argument at that time. The phrase eliminates what is being established at that time, the word of the entity eliminates what the subsequent opponent has established at that time, and the word 'unexcluded' eliminates the situation that the debater has begun to measure at that time is the correct argument at that time. The second argument is established, because its word 'intention', even if it was not explicitly mentioned in the components of the argument at that time, but the situation that all pure former opponents at that time wanted to measure is the correct argument at that time, then the correct argument of other tenets at that time is also universally present, because it has been shown that. Therefore, the explanation is: 'The words of self, phrase, entity, and including unexcluded can eliminate contradictions, and the word intention can eliminate non-pervasiveness.' Therefore, in general, the representative of all characteristics must be able to eliminate the three faults of non-pervasiveness, over-pervasiveness, and impossibility. But here, each part clearly shows the ability to eliminate non-pervasiveness and over-pervasiveness, which is identifiable. And since the ability to eliminate impossibility is not specifically stated, it is not shown. Second, only the commonly used part is shown. As the Compendium says: 'Only the entity needs to be shown' etc., which explains that the correct direction in other tenets has the characteristics of five parts, which is for the sake of distinguishing or eliminating wrong ideas. If it is for the sake of completely excluding or eliminating different types of things, then only one part of 'intention' is enough. As the Logic Gate says: 'Intention as something to be established, not excluded by contradictory meaning, is the direction.' The former opponent at that time... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those who explain, 'The pure proponent at that time thought and accepted the correct thing to be proven, because that is the characteristic of the correct side at that time,' 2-285 Accepting the thing to be proven as a characteristic. Third, eliminating the doubts of the learned scholars is divided into three parts: eliminating the doubt that the characteristics of the genus are flawed; eliminating the doubt that the compilation is meaningless; and eliminating the doubt that the desired words have no difference. First, someone says: The characteristic of the thesis stated in the genus is unreasonable, because it does not eliminate the defects of the thesis's characteristic, because it does not have five conditions. In response to this, for the object of knowledge, in what is said in the genus, the pure proponent at that time thought that the correct thing to be proven at that time should not become the impure characteristic of the correct side at that time, because for the three different types that the opponent at that time has already established, the characteristic of the thesis, that is, the pure proponent at that time thought that the correct thing to be proven at that time, is not applicable. For the two wrong ideas, there is no reason to generate the wrong idea that the example that may become the thing to be proven in the future, the unestablished sign, is the correct thing to be proven, so there is no need to eliminate it. Even if the wrong idea that the statement of the author of the treatise who has not accepted it is the correct thing to be proven is not eliminated, it does not matter, 2-286 Because this is a brief summary of eliminating the characteristics of different types. Among them, 'For those things, there is no thesis,' because the first sign is not established, because for the things excluded by the valid cognition, from the part where the valid cognition directly harms, the previous proponents do not think that it is the correct thing to be proven. For the remaining ones, the arguments that the proponent has already established and is stating at that time, the characteristic of the thesis is not applicable, because those things the pure proponent at that time does not think that it is the correct thing to be proven. Therefore, 'For those things, there is no thesis. Exclusion, acceptance, and remainder, the characteristic is not applicable.' If the five types of differences are not completely eliminated here, why is it said that there is no problem with the three same types? Because the five different types are all contained in these three types. In short, all different types are contained in the non-acceptance of the previous proponent at that time, because of the word acceptance among the five conditions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
