If (the author) does not rely on pramana (tshad ma, pramana, valid means of cognition, 量), then it is not permissible to investigate the profound meanings famous in that treatise, because the profound cannot be understood. Therefore, it is explained that this is to show the similarity of pramana. If I am not pramana, then words will not be meaningful. Similarly, if one does not rely on the treatise, then it is not permissible to investigate the meanings famous therein. This shows the similarity, you (the accuser). The second point is that this credible statement (the accuser) needs to be said together with your own words, because your own words harm the self-contradictory commitment on the topic (rten chos can, subject, 有法) that you have promised. Similarly, you also harm the subject matter of the treatise (skabs rten, contextual basis, 境), on your own topic, with the commitment of the opposite commitment of self-contradiction. In order to show this meaning, it appears that 'the context itself of the treatise will cause harm.' Here, adding the word 'context,' saying 'the scripture harms the meaning proved by the scripture,' and 'the scripture harms the profound,' both of these statements are wrong, because both of these statements contradict the admission that the scripture does not prove anything. Therefore, establishing certainty on one example. Second, showing by one example, divided into two parts: grasping by one example, and explaining how one example represents both. The first part is that this credible statement (the accuser) is said together with your own words, there are two reasons and necessities, therefore, you establish an example from the compilation. As it says in the scripture and its commentary: 'If it is not so, it appears to be so. For example, sound is not audible, and the pot is permanent.' This contradicts merely promising, and both of these examples show the similarity with the phrase 'there is no pramana to measure the measurable.' Therefore, they can both be examples, because they show that there is no pramana. In general, if all pramanas do not exist, then pure treatises and pure words cannot be pramanas of words, because they are universally present. Therefore, it appears that 'Therefore, these examples are also explained in the same way. If all pramanas do not exist, then the words of the treatise cannot exist.' The second is, measuring --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
