It is the cause of 'transformation' (འགྱུར་), the cause of 'manifestation' (སྟོན་པ), and the cause of 'growth' (འཕེལ་བ). The first is established because it can create something new that did not exist before, just like a sprout grows from a seed. The second is established because it makes the future arising (things) harmonize with the already arisen (things), just as a disciple relies on a teacher. The third is established because it becomes the support or basis for the future arising (things) to exist, just as a painting relies on a wall. The fourth is established because it makes the future continuation of the (already) arisen (things) uninterrupted. The fifth is established because it makes the (already) arisen (things) grow more and more. It is explained that 'there are five kinds of transformations that come from arising.' As the 'Treatise on Growth' says: 'Arising and accordance, support and continuity, and growth, for the sake of creation, for the sake of reliance, for the sake of existence, for the sake of manifestation, and for the sake of growth.' Here, all root texts and commentaries clearly state that 'arising' does not become the homogeneous cause of 'transformation'. But if it is said that it can become a homogeneous cause, then there is a paradox. Because, the desired 'earth' (ས་, earth element) of 'arising', when producing the desired 'earth' of 'transformation', the homogeneous cause is the same. Because it possesses the three characteristics of 'our own earth, previously arisen', that is, it possesses the three: that which should be abandoned by cultivation, the desired earth, and the previously arisen. If that alone is not enough, then please also prove that 'arising' can become the homogeneous cause of 'arising'. If it is said that 'the cause and effect are homogeneous in arising', wouldn't that be too extreme? Great scholar Vasubandhu (དབྱིག་གཉེན, 世亲) please answer. Third, 'transformations' not only become dominant conditions for each other, but also become 'causal conditions' in three ways: the previous 'transformation' becomes the homogeneous cause of the later 'transformation'; the 'manifest form' (རྣམ་པར་རིག་བྱེད་ཡིན་མིན་གྱི་གཟུགས) of good and non-good, included in the desired 'earth', produces the maturation result, that is, the 'transformations' such as eyes; and the 'transformations' of the seven 'abandonments' (སྤོང་བ, 断) included in meditation and the unpolluted, become the co-arising cause for each other. It is explained: 'Three transformations among each other', or, 'Transformation is, there are three kinds of transformations among each other.' Here, the co-arising cause among 'transformations' must be any one of the vows of meditation and the unpolluted, and cannot be the Pratimoksha vows, the intermediate vows, and the faculties such as eyes, because the self-commentary says: 'Among them, the co-arising cause is, the actions of body and speech follow the mind...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is not another form that acts as the cause of mutual interaction. The cause of equality is that everything that previously occurred is the cause of equality. The cause of maturation is that the maturation of body and speech actions is the eye and so on, as it is said. In the king's son, It is not four. ' means: all forms that are made into causes, such as the eyes, and even those included in the vows of individual liberation, etc., are not causes that arise together mutually, because all assemblies are different. This is clearly explained. The fourth is that it is reasonable for the form that will arise to be the sole cause of maturation among the dominant condition and causal condition of those arising elements, because the actions of body and speech, the good and the non-good that will arise, can produce the fruit of maturation and have the ability to generate four representations. Furthermore, what will arise does not act simultaneously with what arises, because the assembly of what arises and what will arise is different. It does not act as a cause of equal share, because the two are not equal. It does not act as a cause of universal going and a cause of association, because there are no afflictions in what arises, and the two are not consciousnesses.' It is explained that those of the arising are one. Secondly, six aspects are derived from what is stated below: How many fruits does karma have? How many fruits do virtue and so on have? How many fruits do the three times have? How many fruits are included? How many fruits do the learned and so on have? And an examination of the fruits to be done in the path of seeing and meditation. The first is: For these karmas that are stated, in the karmas that are stated, how are the five fruits as stated in the stated faculties? The uncontaminated uninterrupted path has all five fruits, because it can produce a pleasant fruit of maturation, and as a fruit of similar cause, it can produce a similar subsequent samadhi in samadhi, and as a masculine fruit, it can produce a path of liberation, and as a separation fruit, it can become an antidote to attaining separate cessation, and all conditioned phenomena that are not of one's own nature and did not arise before oneself are one's own master fruit.' It is explained that: The path of abandoning with defilements is endowed with five fruits of karma.' The uncontaminated uninterrupted path, and the contaminated virtue other than the uninterrupted path, and the non-virtue, all three of them also have four fruits, the first one except for the fruit of maturation, and the latter two do not... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
