He is said to have heard the empowerment of limitless authority. He matured and liberated his continuum through the vows of the vidyādhara mantras, entered the teachings, and remained in the great position of the fully accomplished three-fold vajra holder. Fourth, the way in which he relied on virtuous spiritual friends and, through the gateway of listening and contemplation, brought vast learning to the far shore of the ocean is as follows: The Noble Eight Thousand Verse Prajñāpāramitā states: "A bodhisattva who is completely embraced by a virtuous spiritual friend will awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment." And as stated in the Compendium: "All the Buddha's teachings rely on virtuous spiritual friends." The Victorious One, possessing the supreme of all qualities, spoke thus. As these statements indicate, this holy being, from a young age, delighted only in relying on virtuous spiritual friends and lamas without sectarian bias, and it seems that seeking the sacred Dharma from them was his primary activity. This is because those who are arrogant due to the glory of noble lineage, status, high rank, and power and wealth, even if a lama lower than themselves possesses qualities of Dharma, are unwilling to rely on them for fear of diminishing their own greatness, fear of others' criticism, and being filled with the pride of "I." And those who have some understanding of the fields of knowledge or the sutras and tantras are also conceited and arrogant due to being satisfied with knowing so little, their hearts filled with the pride of "I am wise, I am a great spiritual friend," and they are unwilling to submit to anything. Most people are attached to the one-sided view of "I belong to that monastery and that religious tradition," and regardless of whether their own tradition's lama has qualities or not, they blindly cling to them as if they were Buddhas, and apart from collecting offerings and trivial matters, they rarely strive for profound and extensive Dharma. In this great dark age of degeneration, a liberation unlike others, like a flash of lightning, arises from the power of past aspirations. He has absolutely no arrogance of lineage, status, power, wealth, etc., and no matter how much learning and qualities he possesses, he never shows even a trace of conceit, but rather marvels at even the smallest qualities of others, and the venerable one himself fundamentally

Although based on the fact that he is a great holder of the teachings, he has absolutely no selfish biases. Therefore, he respects all holders of the Shakyamuni's teachings in the snowy land. He repeatedly listens to and contemplates those who are definitely connected to the sources of their respective Dharma lineages, without sectarianism or complacency, never being lazy and having no weariness at all. Therefore, although there are many who claim to be learned, it seems very rare to find someone who has listened so completely to all of the Buddha's teachings. The benefits of extensive learning are widely proclaimed in the Sutra Pitaka. In the Bodhisattva Pitaka, it says: "Through hearing, one knows the dharmas; through hearing, one turns away from sin; through hearing, one abandons what is meaningless; through hearing, one attains nirvana." This is what is said. From understanding the meaning of the Dharma in the sutras and shastras, one abandons sins that have become the work of demons and all meaningless actions. Therefore, one will possess all the qualities of a noble person, and possessing these qualities, one will be worthy of praise in the world, including the gods. In the Jataka tales, it says: "If one has qualities, one will obtain the position of a king, and beings will obtain what they have not yet obtained. The power of the lord of the gods also depends on qualities, and if one has qualities, one will please others. Fame also arises from qualities, and greatness of self also arises from those who possess qualities. Qualities that are brighter than moonlight can purify and please the minds of even unbearable, arrogant, and hateful enemies, as well as those who have old grudges and great jealousy." And so on, as it says. There are two ways to listen and contemplate with such qualities: the common outer sciences and the uncommon inner sciences. The first is the meaning extensively taught by the Buddha in the sutras, summarized in verses by Maitreya: "Without mastering the five sciences, even the supreme beings cannot attain omniscience. Therefore, in order to subdue others, to take them in, and to understand everything oneself, one should strive for this." Sakya Pandita said: "If one's own intelligence is not trained in the objects of knowledge, then omniscience is farther than the edge of the sky. Thinking in this way, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas said that one should study the five sciences." As it is said, first
