Because "益" (phan pa) is a component of the preceding word, for "all" (sarba), by transforming the "ཚ" (tsa) of "益" (phan) into "ཨཱི་ཡ" (i ya), "སརྦཱི་ཡཿ" (sarbi yaḥ) is formed. Similarly, for "like a sage" (drang srong dang 'dra ba), "like fire" (me dang 'dra ba), etc., "བཏི་" (bati) should be used to indicate proximity. By giving the affix "བ་ཏི་" (ba ti) for similarity and removing "ཨི་" (i), words like "རྀ་ཥི་བཏ།" (ṛṣi bata) and "ཨགྣིི་བཏ།" (agni bata) are formed. For "having life" (tshe dang ldan pa), "having dharma" (chos dang ldan pa), "having assembly" (tshogs can), "having lineage" (rigs can), etc., affixes indicating possession should be given. As it is said in the Kalapa grammar, "This is its existence," meaning "མནྟུ་བནྟུ་བིནྲ་ཨིནྲ་" (mantu bantu binra indra), etc., by combining these affixes appropriately, words like "ཨཱ་ཡུཥྨཱ་ནྲ།" (āyuṣmānra), "དྷརྨ་བཱནྲ།" (dharma bānra), "ལིཙྪ་བཱི།" (liccha bī), "ཀུ་ལཱི།" (kulī) are formed. For "that very nature" (de kho na nyid), "supreme nature" (mchog nyid), "emptiness nature" (stong nyid), "whatever you" (gang khyod), "the substance of yogurt" (zho yi dngos po), etc., as it is said in the Kalapa grammar, "For substance, there are tata, etc.," therefore these affixes need to be combined appropriately. Among these, if "ཏ་" (ta) is combined, then the feminine "ཨཱསྲ་" (āsra) must be given, and the feminine marker must always be at the end; if "ཏྭ་" (tva) is combined, then the neuter marker must always be at the end in all cases. Then, why is "ཏཱ་ཏྭཾ།" (tātvam) not shown? Because it is a majority, so it is said. These words, in order, for example: "ཏ་ཏྭཾཾ།" (tatvam), "བ་ར་མ་ཏཱ།" (baramatā), "ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ།" (śūnyatā), "ཡ་ཏྭཾཾ།" (yatvam), "ད་དྷི་ཏྭཾཾ།" (dadhitvam), etc. Like "fifth, seventh," etc., because this is determined as a component of clarifying the completion of the previous word, for completion from numbers, by using ཌ་མ་ (ḍa ma), etc., words like "པཉྩ་མཱི།" (pañcamī), "སཔྟ་མཱི།" (saptamī) are formed, and detailed explanation would be too much. The fourth is, if the previous three are known, then it will naturally be known, for example, "What was said by the one with life?" (tshe dang ldan pas gang zhig smras), like this, "having life" (ldan pa) is its component, and "པས་" (pas) is the instrumental case of the agent, and "གང་ཞིག་" (gang zhig) is a particle. Therefore, by combining all these, a word like "ཨཱ་ཡུཥྨ་ཏཱ་ཡཏྶྱ་དུཀྟཾ།" (āyuṣmatā yatsya duktam) is formed. Furthermore, when combining Sanskrit words together, one must first, based on the Tibetan word's stem, determine which of the seven, three, twenty-one cases need to be combined without confusion. Generally speaking, words like Buddha, Dharma, deity, person are called nouns. These can be two or more, continuously gathered together, such as Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, or the wealth of gods and humans in the heavens, which form a continuous flow of words. In Tibetan, apart from word particles, there is almost no distinction between nouns and words that express the essence of meaning.

Even in the Sanskrit system, if it is determined to be a word, whether or not it actually includes a case, a clear distinction must be made. Therefore, the first case is used for meanings that only indicate a sign. Among them, the singular form of the first case only indicates the essence of the thing, while the dual and plural forms slightly indicate the difference of the thing. For the meanings of agent and object, the first case is used instead of the third and second cases, also because the agent and object, etc., have already been explained by other suffixes such as kṛt (Sanskrit Devanagari: कृत्, Sanskrit Romanization: kṛt, Chinese literal meaning: कृत suffix), so when combining with them, it is not necessary to add those cases to them, but only to add the first case to the meaning itself, not to indicate the transformation of the meaning. Then, does the first case only indicate the essence of the thing? Not so, it is not completely without scope either. For example, "ཀྱེ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས། (Tibetan)", "ཀྱེ་སྒྲོལ་མ། (Tibetan)" (equivalent to "Homage to the Bhagavan", "Homage to Tara") etc. for the meaning of calling, the first case should be used. At this time, if necessary, syllables of vocative can be added in front, such as ཧེ། (Tibetan) བྷོ། (Tibetan) བྷོས། (Tibetan) etc. Some people think that these syllables of vocative are the vocative case, but putting the case in front of the noun, no matter how it is in Sanskrit, even in Tibetan there is no such usage. In addition, most early Tibetan scholars, such as Zhe-drung-pa (name), believed that there was an eighth case, the vocative case, but in the main grammar works, only seven cases, that is, twenty-one cases, are mentioned, and there are no eight cases, that is, twenty-four cases. Moreover, because the first three cases have no other forms in essence, if according to your statement, the vocative case is the eighth case. This statement does not appear in the works of Cāndrapa (Chandravyakaranas) and Pāṇini. They say: "The first case is used only for the meaning itself, and is universally used for calling." And in the works of Kalāpa (Katantra grammar), it says: "For words that indicate the meaning of a sign, the first case is used, and also for calling." And in the works of Tso-den-ma (Samudramati), it says: "For the meaning of a sign, the first case is used, and also for calling." And in the works of Rap-jye-du (Bhavaviveka), it says: "For the meaning of manifesting and universally calling, it also becomes the first case." Therefore, in all cases, it is said that the first case itself is used for the meaning of universal calling. Therefore, this kind of statement, which is not recorded in the main works and is considered to be a good saying that does not match the meaning, but is actually the fabrication of stupid Tibetans.
