By what is learned, the remainder dwells in darkness, until the number of hours of holding. However, because the fullness of the date is small, if the learning is not sufficient, then it holds on that day. Even if the duration of holding is added to it, if it is still not enough, then it will not be seen. Moreover, regarding the direction, does the moon learn from the face? Or when the end learns from the moon? If it is midnight, then it starts from the northeast; if it is the first half of the night, then northeast near north; if it is the second half of the night, then northeast near east and holds. Does the face learn from the moon? Or when the moon learns from the end? If it is midnight, then it starts from the southeast; the first half of the night, southeast near east; the second half of the night, southeast near south. If the two are the same, then noon is in the east. The first half of the night is northeast, the second half of the night, then it holds from the southeast. Moreover, the color of the end is reddish-white, the face is reddish-black, and the small holding is black. Half-holding is reddish-black, and the round holding is like the smoke at the beginning and end of burning iron. The head, hands, and nose of the stars are all blue. In short, the extent of the east-west land should be examined for the movement of the moon. When the movement reaches the end of the northward journey, the appearance is early and the setting is late. The southward journey is said to have a late appearance and an early setting. Moreover, both the sun and the moon must be known. If the initial ten days of accomplishment are deficient, then at this time the sun and moon do not hold. The time of the sun and moon holding should also be examined for the time limit of the accomplishment's date being full and exhausted. This is also here and elsewhere, because of the practice, the time limit of the date is not understood. Although it is said to be determined according to what is needed, in the calculation book written by Rangjung Zhap, the definite shift of the date is: the summer and winter solstices are ten and a half, the equality of light and darkness is four parts of an arrow, the autumn and spring ra tha are definite, the summer and winter ra tha are eight, four, and three. In the hours of the successive weekdays, because of the giving, it is said to hold from dawn at the time of exhaustion. Furthermore, there are differences in the time of the sun and moon holding, the wishes of others and others, and the details of the results, calculations, and omens are explained in detail in the Bumzang treatise. Moreover, from that, the good and bad results are explained in the basis of all calculations: if the planets hold on the sun's turn, then there will be a great drought and the plants will wither, famine will destroy the country and the king will decline. The moon will have heavy rain and abundant grain, and healthy pregnant women will give birth safely. Mars will cause disturbances and all countries will decline, especially it is bad for generals. Mercury travelers will love each other, and the rain will be moderate, so the grain will be good. Jupiter will increase qualities and be in accordance with the Dharma.

Things will be accomplished. However, there is a risk of hailstorms. Praised by Pasang Dampa, crops will be abundant, and people will be happy. Saturn will bring strong winds, but little rain. Untimely diseases and conflicts will occur. During the Bra-nye, Smin-drug, Gya, and Mchu stars; and the Gre, Saga, and Khrums-stod seven stars, if the sun and moon are eclipsed by Rahu, cities and forests will be burned by fire, bile diseases and famine will occur, and most people will die. Cows will have no milk. Various infectious diseases will occur. The good, earlier religions will decline. The king will decline, and slaves will suffer. The country will be destroyed, and ash rain will fall. Without rain, rivers will dry up, and trees, flowers, and fruits will wither. These are the signs of fire. During the head of the Ta star and Nab-so-wo, Me-shi, Nag-wa, and Sa-ri-la, the country will be destroyed, the sun will be in the northwest, famine will occur, and ash rain will fall. Milk and butter will decrease. The wind will destroy the country's large trees and houses, including iron walls. The king in the central region will engage in internal conflicts. Monks, Brahmins, and mantra practitioners will mostly be killed by weapons and plagues. Horses, elephants, donkeys, cattle, and wild animals will be afflicted by diseases. Guests will suffer, and various inauspicious things will occur. These are the signs of wind. During the Nar-ma, Lha-mtshams, Nron, and Bye stars; and the Gro-zhin, Mon-gre, and Chu-smad, all beings in the world will attain happiness. Monks, Brahmins, and others who are interested in and engage in Dharma will be happy. Trees and crops will flourish on the earth. In particular, barley, sesame, and wheat; rapeseed, beans, and other grains will increase. Due to the rising heat from the earth, small creatures will die. Rain will fall heavily or lightly, which is not good. These are the signs of earth. During the Lag-skag, Snubs, and Chu-stod; and the Mon-dru, Nam-dru, and Khrums-smad, it will be very auspicious, and grains will increase. Rainwater will fall evenly in the sky. Trees and crops will flourish on the earth, and people will be free from diseases, conflicts, and famine. The king will be happy and will prevail over disputes. Food and enjoyment will be abundant. All beings will be happy and joyful. Furthermore, to quickly realize Gesar, it is said thus. The moon and the sun, if eclipsed by Rahu in the same lunar phase, then the landowners will be destroyed by angry weapons. If it starts from the east and west, grains and victory will occur in sequence.
