Observe how rare it is for Dharma and one's own mind to merge, like a star in the daytime. If one's own mind merges with the Dharma, then embarking on the path of Dharma is the foundation for liberation, the path of the Buddhas, and the footprints of the accomplished ones. Strive to merge your own mind with the Dharma! And advise others to do the same! This is the third instruction. If one is not attached to food, clothing, gain, respect, and fame, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one can abandon the affairs of this life without clinging, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one has no pretense and does not calculate for outward appearances, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one abandons self-importance and arrogance and occupies a humble place, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one sees the law of karma as clearly as the pupil of one's eye, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not have sectarian bias towards different philosophical schools, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one masters pure perception without partiality, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not measure the Dharma with limited understanding, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not judge the minds of others, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not harbor jealousy towards great individuals, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not despise the weak, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not look for the faults of others but examines one's own faults, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not lick the leftovers of demons, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not promote one's own side, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not fear being despised by others, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one is free from doubt about the profound meaning, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not become arrogant about the signs of the path, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not hope for results, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one does not turn back from the path of practice, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. If one's mind is as stable as a mountain, then one's own mind is merged with the Dharma. What is the use of saying more? Although the outer appearance of a Dharma practitioner and the lion's skin are both empty of benefit when needed, nowadays there are many who wear the lion's skin, so that the Buddha's teachings in general, and especially the essence of the practice lineage, are like the rays of the setting sun, striving only to avoid being seen.

A seemingly noble guest is not as comfortable as an ordinary person. An ordinary person does not accumulate great sins by relying on offerings. The reason for not walking the path of Dharma is that one has not let go of this life. The reason for not letting go of this life is due to attachment to wealth and bad habits, and not remembering death. Therefore, pierce your heart with the concept of impermanence. Also, instruct others in this way. This is the fourth instruction. Diligently practicing the Dharma also comes from remembering death. Not pursuing the glory of this life also comes from remembering death. Not using cause and effect carelessly also comes from remembering death. Not turning away from the Dharma also comes from remembering death. Liberation from the prison of samsara also comes from remembering death. Not cherishing the eight worldly concerns also comes from remembering death. Liberation from the bonds of attachment and aversion also comes from remembering death. Abandoning the actions of demons also comes from remembering death. Not following the actions of bad friends also comes from remembering death. Not following bad examples also comes from remembering death. Actions will not become meaningless also comes from remembering death. Not deceiving oneself also comes from remembering death. Seeing one's own faults also comes from remembering death. A madman recognizing himself also comes from remembering death. The ultimate wish being fulfilled also comes from remembering death. After remembering death, devote yourself wholeheartedly to the Dharma. Otherwise, it will only become a boring worry. The root of all Dharmas, the seed of Buddhahood, the heart essence of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, is the two kinds of Bodhicitta, conventional and ultimate. Ultimate Bodhicitta also arises dependent on conventional Bodhicitta, so always remain inseparable from the heart of loving-kindness and compassion. Also, instruct others in this way. This is the fifth instruction. Whatever you do, if there is no selfish thought, then Bodhicitta has arisen. Treating enemies and friends equally, then Bodhicitta has arisen. Not being attached to the happiness of the heavens, then Bodhicitta has arisen. Not fearing the suffering of the lower realms, then Bodhicitta has arisen.
