Offering means 'supreme'. It also means supreme, sacred, most supreme, abundant, highest, and unsurpassed. Indra, therefore, do not offer to me with material offerings, but offer to me with the offering of Dharma. Do not attend to me with material means, but attend to me with Dharma, keep it in mind. As it is said in the Sutra of Great Liberation Expanding in All Directions: Material giving is the giving of the Hearers, which only increases life and enjoyment, but does not liberate from samsara. The giving of the Great Vehicle Dharma is to increase the root of enlightenment for sentient beings, and to gather the life of wisdom of the three vehicles. And as it is said in other sutras: For a virtuous person, the offering of Dharma is the most supreme among all offerings. Thus, even if one were to fill all the three thousand great thousand worlds in the ten directions with priceless jewels and offer them, it would still not be as excellent as explaining the meaning of a single four-line verse of the sacred Dharma and explaining it well. And that is the source of Dharma offering, as it is said in the Question of Immaculate Giving in the Jewel Heap Sutra: That which correctly shows, upholds, distinguishes, and gathers all the sacred Dharmas is called Dharma offering. Thus it is. The offering that has such great purpose is: the essence of all the wheels of Dharma of the Tathagata, starting from the view of the Perfection of Wisdom cutting off the elaborations of conventional truth, mainly explaining the profound state of reality like the moon in meditative equipoise, the Introduction to the Middle Way; starting from establishing the nature of the ultimate clear light realm, mainly explaining the vast state of reality in the subsequent attainment, the Sublime Continuum; starting from the hidden meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom, the eight realizations, mainly explaining the stages of the path to be practiced by the sons of the Buddhas, the Ornament of Clear Realization, these three treatises are the supreme commentaries on the intermediate and final wheels. And the Abhidharma Treasury, the commentary on the Abhidharma Pitaka, which mainly establishes the characteristics of all phenomena, primarily the aggregates, elements, and sources.

Superior to the common vehicle by many distinctions is the Secret Mantra Vajrayana, the pinnacle of the four classes of tantras, the king of all Yoga Tantras, the root tantra of the Bhagavan Hevajra, the second chapter. The great and profound inner meaning of all Anuttarayoga Tantras, this great treatise compiled by the Second Victor, Rangjung Dorje, is a vast cloud of offerings of the sacred Dharma, speaking in connected words of the excellent explanations of the doctrines that possess the number of the six perfections. Possessing the three trainings and having heard much, with a wide throat for the doctrines when explaining, with swift courage of reason when debating, with Saraswati entering the speech when composing, the Vinaya-holders, diligent and holding the three baskets, who have become illuminators of the precious doctrine, will expand upon this immediately thereafter.

Those with knowledge and miraculous powers, the Sangha gathered as a field of merit, and all those who speak the auspicious words of truth from the Song of Glory, and shower down a rain of flowers, so that all directions, times, and places are filled with the great light of goodness, such activities will also occur in the future. Third, in the context of offering the pure realm, there are eight special distinctions in meaning: the reason for making the mandala, the main object of offering; its essence; its meaning; the classification of offering methods; the necessity of having the six perfections complete in it; the practical application; the method of visualization; and how to make aspirations, making it virtuous with auspicious numbers. The first of these is: In general, offering the mandala is the supreme of all offerings because the field, intention, and objects are all vast and extremely pure. The field is not just one direction, but is directed towards the gurus and Three Jewels of the ten directions and three times; the intention is not just one direction, but seeks the unsurpassed Bodhi, including all sentient beings in the sky; the objects are not just one direction, but are vast because they are offered by imagining the fields and offerings that pervade the sky. It is extremely pure because it is free from the defilements of the three stages of preparation, main practice, and subsequent action, such as the pride of ego that comes with offering other mundane objects. Therefore, Jowo Rinpoche also said, "Among the accumulations that can be gathered by stretching out one's arms, there is no greater merit than offering the mandala." In particular, from the "Meaningful Approach": "In the three sessions, be extremely pure, wash your mouth, hands, and feet. Take the flowers and make the mandala of the Victorious Ones very round in front of the Guru." And from the "Fifty Verses on the Guru": "With utmost respect, at three times, with mandala and flowers, with folded hands, attend to the Guru and Teacher, and bow your head to his feet." As it is said, meeting the glorious and precious Guru, turning the wheel of Dharma, and offering the mandala when remembering the Guru, all the Victorious Ones will be pleased, and the interdependent connection for oneself to complete the two accumulations will be fulfilled, and so on. This mandala has many special necessities and key points of interdependence.
