Like a rainbow path. All things appear, yet are empty in essence, like reflections in a mirror. All places appear, yet are without truth, like cities of gandharvas. All mantra sounds, though without self-nature, rely on conditions, like echoes in a valley. All deity forms are clear yet without conceptualization, like the moon in water. All arising of conceptual thoughts appear yet are liberated in their own place, like bubbles in water. All samadhi, without being, yet everything appears, like visual illusions. All miracles appear yet their self-nature is unestablished, one should know them as like emanations. Especially, mantra recitation must possess nine recognitions: Because the suchness of the deity and mantra are equal, know the mantra as the deity. Reciting one mantra accomplishes all the mandalas of the victorious ones, so know the mantra as the mandala. The increase and decrease of recitation pleases all the victorious ones, so know the mantra as offering. Generating experience and realization, so know the mantra as blessing. Accomplishing supreme and common, so know the mantra as accomplishment. Accomplishing countless and various activities, so know the mantra as activity. Destroying clinging to reality, liberating in the unborn, so know the mantra as dharmata. Fulfilling deficiencies, purifying sins and obscurations, so know the mantra as purification. Fulfilling all desires, so know the mantra as a wish-fulfilling jewel. Thus, continuously reciting the mantra, abiding in the four branches of recitation and practice, the signs of accomplishment will not be far off, but will appear according to the difference of faculties and fortune. As the Tantra of Ambrosial Sound says: Those who act in the four times, constantly reciting and nearly reciting, practicing and greatly practicing with diligence, are united with the fruit of desire. Those, through the power of such habituation, all the principles of dharma constantly appear, not destroyed by others of the same kind. It also says: Abiding in the four mudras of recitation and practice, some accomplish in an instant, some accomplish in a day, some accomplish in seven days, some in twenty-one days, some in a month or a year, those undoubtedly accomplish. Thus, the four branches of recitation and practice also have three situations: the time of the path, the time of practice, and the time of union. In the time of practice, there are also those mentioned in the Nyingma Kama and the new tantra sections, only those combined with the order of activity rituals, but the terma's

In this aspect, there are many who devote themselves solely to recitation. That is, practicing the intent of the moon and stars, closely practicing the intent of the obstructing fire wheel, accomplishing the intent like a king sending messengers, and combining it with the intent like a beehive. For these, from the beginning, there is no need to generate self-generation and other-generation separately, which is a characteristic of the ancient translation of secret mantras. Therefore, self and other are united, and practice is done in a single mandala. When entering recitation, just as one lamp lights another, arranging the mandala in the positions of the front mandala, vase, etc., is called "dividing the mandala." When visualizing the mandala, it is crucial not to waver in the contemplation and meditation on the order of visualization. For those who are of low intelligence, whose visualization is unclear, and who cannot meditate on the mandala, merely visualizing oneself as the main deity Avalokiteśvara, or generating the pride of thinking that one is Avalokiteśvara, also has immeasurable benefits. As it is said in the Padma King Sutra: "Meditating on one mandala of the body, all Buddhas gather, the protector Avalokiteśvara's body is, even meditating and remembering can purify, the stains of uninterrupted sins." Furthermore, the benefits of the seven-syllable mantra are said to be inconceivable in all the sutras and tantras, which cannot be elaborated here. In short, in the Secret Assembly Tantra, it is said: "The all-knowing Buddha said, these three thousand world realms, if counted like sesame pods, there will be an end, the merits of the seven syllables are endless. The merits of taking the lives of sentient beings in the world, can be counted by the noble ones, if the seven syllables are recited once, how can the merits be spoken? All sentient beings in the three realms without exception, the merits of placing them on the Buddha ground, there may be those who can count, but the merits of one syllable are difficult to count. The seven syllables empowerment and transmission, can transform karma and karmic results, the ten non-virtuous deeds and five uninterrupted sins, can be purified from this very life. Who makes this intention? Because it is the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara, removes obstacles and subdues beings. Seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching can all be obtained, those who practice, recite, write, hold, and teach, are endowed with qualities and wherever they are born, they will never be separated from Avalokiteśvara."
