Generate compassion. Especially strive in the seven-branch offering and the mandala. If I am sick, please bless me to be sick; if I recover, please bless me to recover; if I die, please bless me to die. Pray in this way to prevent hope and fear. The second is: The intention is as before. Generate a strong sense of regret for the sins committed in the past, and vow never to commit them again even if it costs your life, this is the power of turning away from sin. Take refuge in the Three Jewels and rely on the power of generating bodhicitta. Meditate on emptiness, recite special dharani mantras, etc., strive in the six doors of remedies, and pray to prevent hope and fear, so that the four powers of applying all remedies are fully realized. The third is: To the harm-doer, give torma. You have gone to collect my past debts and taken away my loans, I am very grateful. Please destroy me now. May all the suffering, diseases, disasters, and fears of all sentient beings ripen on me. May all sentient beings be free from suffering. Thus entrust the activity. If you cannot do this, then give torma. Practice the giving and taking of loving-kindness and compassion. I will do whatever benefits you in this life and the next. Please do not hinder my Dharma practice. Thus issue the command. The fourth is: Offer torma to the Dharma protectors. Entrust the activity of pacifying obstacles to Dharma practice and accomplishing favorable conditions. In particular, perform the above-mentioned prayer to prevent hope and fear. In order to transform sudden circumstances into the path, immediately combine what you encounter with practice. As it is said: If suddenly illness, evil spirits, afflictions, etc. occur to oneself, or if one sees others tormented by unpleasant things, think of doing only giving and taking. For all good thoughts and actions, such as virtuous deeds, wish that all sentient beings may naturally enter into Dharma activities that are even more excellent than this. Apply the same when encountering happiness and joy. If evil thoughts arise, or if one has to involuntarily engage in evil deeds, think that all the evil thoughts or evil deeds of all sentient beings are gathered into this one of mine. In short, whatever you do, eating, sleeping, walking, sitting, whatever activity, do it for the benefit of others.

Having grasped it with the mind, no matter what favorable or unfavorable circumstances are encountered, one should practice only the meditation of mind training. Fourth, condensing the practice of a lifetime into teachings, there are two parts: how to act in this life, and how to act at the time of death. The first is: The essence of the oral instructions, briefly stated, should be combined with the five powers. This means that the oral instructions for practicing the sacred Dharma, the profound nine-in-one practice, are condensed into five powers. The first is the power of aspiration: From this time until enlightenment, especially until death, and specifically this year and this month, even more specifically from today until tomorrow, may I never be separated from the two bodhicitta. This is to send forth a strong aspiration of mind. The second is the power of habituation: Whatever action one engages in, whether it is virtuous, non-virtuous, or neutral, one should firmly grasp it with mindfulness and repeatedly train, without being separated from the two bodhicitta. In short, the main practice of virtue is to train in bodhicitta. The third is the power of the white seed: For the sake of the arising and increase of bodhicitta, one should never be content with virtue, and the three doors of body, speech, and mind should always strive in virtue. The fourth is the power of refutation: Whenever a thought of cherishing the self arises, one should think: In the past, I have wandered in samsara from beginningless time, and all kinds of suffering have been caused by you. All the sins and sufferings that have occurred in this life have also been caused by you. There is no happiness in being with you now. Now I must completely destroy you! Thus, one should abandon the thought of self-grasping far away. The fifth is the power of prayer: At the end of whatever virtuous practice one does, one should pray: May all sentient beings be led by me alone to the state of Buddhahood. In particular, from this time until enlightenment, may I never forget the two precious bodhicitta, even in dreams, and may they increase more and more. Whatever adverse circumstances may arise, may I be able to turn them into aids for bodhicitta. Thus, one should pray from the depths of one's heart and dedicate all merit to this purpose. Second, how should the dying instructions according to this Dharma tradition be done? The oral instructions for the transference of consciousness in the Great Vehicle are, precisely, the five powers.
