Ultimately, perfection will arise. During these times, no matter how the appearances of experience and the qualities of the path increase, do not be attached or cling to them, but recognize your own nature; this is the profound instruction. Also, verbally recite: The ground is emptiness, the path is signlessness, and the fruit is wishlessness. Say this and remember its meaning. Third, when any kind of shamatha and vipashyana samadhi arises, clearly distinguish and recognize the similarities between the final turning of the wheel and the Vajrayana, such as existence and non-existence. If you have a rough understanding of the scriptures and commentaries, that is sufficient. If not, receive instructions such as the Mountain Dharma: Ocean of Definitive Meaning, and do your best to observe and contemplate, thereby understanding the nature of mind, which is the emptiness endowed with all perfections, the self-luminous light of its own nature. Although it is indicated by many names such as the Tathagatagarbha, Suchness, Emptiness, Mahamudra, and Aham, understand that they are free from the faults of contradiction and conflict. As it is said in the scriptures: All the teachings of the Buddhas are to show emptiness and selflessness. Foolish people who do not understand the meaning of emptiness and selflessness will degenerate. Therefore, liberate yourself from this fault, rely on the two truths and the four reliances, and understand the ultimate definitive meaning of the Buddhas' scriptures and the wisdom of your own experience, so that the practice of the path becomes meaningful. In this way, although all phenomena gathered by the imputational, adventitious mind are empty like the gathering of clouds, recognize that the clear and aware continuum of the dharmata Tathagatagarbha is self-arisen wisdom, and cultivate it. Take refuge and generate bodhicitta as before. According to the teachings of the venerable Tara, practice the remembrance of the guru and Buddha in one session, and finally recite: The Tathagata is unshowable, for he cannot be seen with the eye. The Dharma is unspeakable, for it cannot be heard with the ear. The Sangha is unconditioned, therefore it cannot be served and venerated with body, speech, and mind. And, the nature of the Buddha is unconditioned, therefore it is called permanent. What is called space is the nature of the Buddha. The nature of the Buddha is the Tathagata.

The departed is unconditioned. The unconditioned is permanent. The permanent is Dharma. The Dharma is Sangha. The Sangha is unconditioned. The unconditioned is permanent. Thus, repeat again and again, and always remember the Three Jewels of ultimate truth. Then, from the Lankavatara Sutra: Relying on mind-only, do not contemplate external objects. Relying on the absence of appearance, transcend from mind-only. Relying on the correct object, transcend from the absence of appearance. If the yogi dwells in the absence of appearance, he will see the Great Vehicle. Thus, understanding conventional illusion as mind-only is refuted by the absence of appearance Madhyamaka. And transcending that, the Madhyamaka with appearance must enter the true nature without error. What is the correct object? Just as the four elements are not absent from being pervaded by space, there is no knowable that is not pervaded by the Dharmakaya of the Buddha. The Suchness of the Buddha and all sentient beings has no distinctions such as good or bad, big or small, high or low. Capable of generating the qualities of the Buddha, having beginningless time, the lineage or element that abides naturally, obtained by the nature of Dharma, exists in all beings gathered by life-breath, therefore, all sentient beings have the essence of the Tathagata. To clarify this, it is said: Because the body of the perfectly enlightened Buddha is pervasive, because Suchness is without difference, because there is lineage, all embodied beings always have the essence of the Buddha. It is said that the Dharmakaya of the pure, the Suchness of the impure and pure, and the awakened nature of the lineage of the impure exist in this way: Buddha. Bad honey is in the honeycomb, essence is in the chaff, gold is in the unclean disease, treasure and sprouts etc. are in the earth, the body of the king is in the tattered clothes, the lord of men is in the belly of a bad woman, just as there is the image of jewels in the earth, this Tathagata-dhatu dwells in sentient beings obscured by the defilements of sudden afflictions. Recite this and contemplate its meaning. Karma and cause and effect, and maturation and affliction, aggregates, elements, sources, dependent origination, etc., all differentiated things, not only have never existed in ultimate truth, but also in conventional truth
