Om. In all the fields that fill the ten directions, may clouds of offerings shower down. Through this virtue, may all sentient beings be completely liberated from existence, attain the two supreme wisdoms, and accomplish the two benefits spontaneously. Having prayed intensely in this way, a stream of nectar descended from the toes of the feet. Entering from the crown of the head of myself and all sentient beings, it pervaded the entire body, inside and out. The obscurations of the body were purified, and the accomplishment of the body was attained. It descended to the throat, the obscurations of speech were purified, and the accomplishment of speech was attained. It descended to the heart, the obscurations of mind were purified, and the accomplishment of mind was attained. It descended to the navel, all impurities were purified, and the accomplishment of qualities was attained. It descended to the secret place, and the accomplishment of activity was attained. One became inseparable from bliss and emptiness. Finally, through the force of devotion, the lama dissolved into light and merged into oneself. Having faith that one has become inseparable, maintain the essence of unfabricated, unadulterated self-awareness as much as possible. When rising from the session, with this virtue of naturally pure essence, may samsara and the lower realms be completely emptied, may no being remain in existence, and may all beings quickly attain Buddhahood. Conclude with dedications and aspirations such as these, and then engage in ordinary activities. During all breaks between sessions, take the three—appearances, sounds, and awareness—as the wisdom of the three secrets of the lama, and strive in the yoga of the union of the two accumulations. Here, if you wish to elaborate on the definitions, meanings, benefits, and so forth, explain them as in the common teachings. These stages of accumulating merit can each be divided into sessions of one hundred thousand, and so forth. After each stage of diligent practice, add extensive dedications and aspirations, and during the breaks between sessions, understand the key points of taking the path, which are related to that particular time, as in the common teachings. These preliminary general explanations are found in the ordinary teachings of the Mindroling lineage. It seems that they mainly emphasize the recitation, meditation, and rituals that are in accordance with the common teaching methods. The specifically explained parts seem to be uncommon parts that are not explicitly explained in the Yangtik Yizhin Norbu. Therefore, the master also personally instructed, "It is like this." And it seems that they also appear in the lineages of the great vidyadharas and others. Therefore, I thought it would be very important to do recitation and meditation, so I recorded it in detail without worrying about the complexity of the text. Fourth, the common secret mantra of

There are two methods for training the body and mind through the channels and bindus of prana: learning the detached prana and learning the attached bindu. The first has five aspects: learning the color of prana, learning the shape, learning the number, learning the movement, and learning the kumbhaka (vase breathing). The first is: the body posture should be straightened in the seven-point posture, and the eye posture should look in accordance with the high and low, sinking and rising. The speech posture is to eliminate three slow and long impure breaths from the two nostrils. The mind posture is to visualize the essence of the gathered pranas at the eyebrow center, visualizing a white bindu the size of a mustard seed, clear and blazing, abandoning all discriminations of the three times such as hope, fear, fault, merit, negation, affirmation, etc., focusing the mind one-pointedly on the form of the bindu and meditating. No matter how big or small the discriminations arise, cut them off immediately and focus entirely on the bindu. If the mind is distracted and the thoughts are rampant, let the form of the bindu appear clearly in the mind, not too tightly, but slightly relaxed, set up a mindfulness watchtower, and then relax. Do not view self-awareness and bindu as separate, but cultivate in a state of indivisible, self-luminous, and without clinging. When the mind is completely focused on the form of the bindu and becomes stable, the radiance of the bindu will pervade one's head, then the body, then the outer world and all places. Finally, focus all appearances on the luminous nature of prana, which is white light. Then gradually gather it back, focusing the mind on the root bindu at the eyebrow center. By practicing the expansion and contraction alternately in this way, the body will become light, the speech will become clear, the mind will abide, etc., until superior signs appear. These practices also apply to the subsequent practices. The second is: visualize a bluish-white prana bindu the size of a barley grain at the tip of the nose. Once it is clear, relying on the slow movement of air in and out of the nostrils, when exhaling, visualize the bindu dissolving with the air. When inhaling, visualize the bindu coming in with the air, feeling cool at the tip of the nose. If the body is very cold, then visualize the bindu as red in color and warm to the touch. Alternatively, it is said that it is also permissible to visualize it at the hair follicle between the eyebrows. The third is: combining the movement of prana and consciousness, focus on counting the natural flow of the three stages of daily breathing—exhaling, inhaling, and abiding—with one-pointed attention, counting each cycle as one.
