Thinking with the nature of the lineage of transmission, focus single-mindedly on this. Practice with the yoga of breath retention until the clear sign is obtained. This is the basis for accomplishing all activities such as pacification. Second, the reality of sound abiding: visualize on the moon disc in the heart of your own deity, in the center like a flame of peaceful fire, the garland of mantra syllables extremely clear. After a short while, do not focus on its form either, but think only of the sound of the self-arising mantra like the sound of a bell. Retain the breath and focus single-mindedly on this, practice until the clear appearance is obtained. This is the basis for the arising of calm abiding. Third, the reality of the end of sound: analyze and break down that mere sound of the mantra, knowing that its essence is free from the three—arising, ceasing, and abiding—and rest in equipoise in the state of non-conceptual wisdom of one's own suchness. Through this, the wisdom of insight arises and becomes the actual immediate cause of liberation. In general, the six deities, the three branches of recitation, and the three meditations must enter and focus on the latter after gaining stability in the former. However, even during the mere counting recitation at present, after the recitation has progressed somewhat, at the end of the session, connect all three or the samadhi of the latter two with it. Third, the subsequent activities are twofold: the activities of the session and the activities between sessions. First, at the end of the session when the recitation is finished, join the backs of the two ring fingers. Cross them with the left hand in front and the right hand behind joined together. The right index finger embraces the left middle and ring fingers, and the left index finger embraces the right middle and ring fingers. Place the two thumbs on the middle joints of the index fingers. Join and raise the two little fingers, making the vase mudra, and recite the virtues of the recitation, etc., offer the merit of the recitation, and pray for the desired meaning, placing the rosary before the image of the support. Gather the four families, the moon, and the mantra garland in the heart into the main deity, raise them into the sky, and after offering praise and confession, reabsorb them into oneself. Releasing the wisdom being from one's own body and offering praise and requesting its departure is the explanation of the lower tantra. However, for practitioners of the unsurpassed yoga, this is extremely inappropriate, as the previous lamas have said.

Then abide in Suchness. At the three places of one's own samaya, there are three syllables, and especially at the head and heart, one should think that one is protected by being marked with the moon and the syllable BHRUM (Tibetan: བྷྲཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: भ्रूम, Sanskrit Romanized: bhrūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: BHRUM). Recite "Dzina Dzik" three times. Secondly, when rising from the seat, think that one is engaging in actions for the benefit of all sentient beings. Offer the torma according to the sadhana. From the depths of one's heart, make aspirations for the Pure Land of Manifest Joy, etc., and great vehicle aspirations. One should respectfully place any great vehicle sutra, such as the Perfection of Wisdom, on a clean throne and read it. If one cannot do that at all, one must at least prostrate to it. When beginning to eat, protect oneself by reciting: OM OKA JVALA VAJRA PANI HUM SAMAYA MANU SMAR HUM PHAT (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanized, Chinese literal meaning). Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. OM BALI DAD DITE DZO MALINI SVAHA (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanized, Chinese literal meaning). Recite this eight times to bless the food. Offer the first morsel to the supreme deity, then eat and wash one's hands. When washing one's hands, recite the mantra of the swirling nectar. When sleeping, protect oneself with the mantra of great power. Prostrate to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Vajrapani, and Shariputra. Pray that all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas bless me, grant me the supreme of unsurpassed siddhis, and please pacify all harms. Having prayed in this way, fall asleep with the notion of Dharma. Likewise, the six recollections, mandala offerings, making tsatsas, cleaning vessels, the mantra for putting on clothes, protecting against ejaculation in reality and dreams, etc., should also be done according to the common practices as one knows them. Occasionally, recite the mantra that eliminates the faults of non-food mentioned above, and drink the five products of the cow, etc. In this way, divide the day into four or three sessions and complete the number of recitations. At the beginning of all activities, protect and purify with the long or short mantra of the swirling nectar. Slightly restore the offerings, consolidate the power and blessings, and from the generation of bodhicitta in the main practice, cycle through to the torma offering and aspirations. When the recitation is completed, one must perform a pacifying fire puja that is one-tenth of the number of recitations accomplished at this time. Fire puja.
