The five inexpiable sins and the sins close to them will be purified, and sentient beings will not be born in the realms of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, nor will they suffer in the eight states of unfreedom. They will be liberated from predators, demons, non-humans, and all diseases and fears. These and other benefits are extensively taught in the scriptures. In general, although there are many forms and different essences of the Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara or Namaka Gyalpo (Akashagarbha), according to the Palmo tradition, the main mantra to be recited is the long and short mantra of the Eleven-Faced Avalokiteśvara. Furthermore, as stated in the scriptures, the mantra of the Blue-Necked One (Nīlakaṇṭha) is the great root vidyā-mantra itself, and Nāgārjuna's practice method also relies on it. Regarding the immeasurable benefits of this mantra, Ārya Pāda summarizes: reciting this mantra once will completely purify even the four root downfalls. The noble Avalokiteśvara will constantly watch over the one who holds this mantra with the compassion of a thousand eyes and protect them with a thousand hands. Etc., as extensively stated in the scriptures, in order to increase the benefits, this mantra should also be recited several times. And also, as stated in the scriptures: One should always remember my teacher Amitābha, and then it is appropriate to recite this secret mantra. One should act accordingly. One will be able to see the great compassion of the Body and the compassion of the Form Body. Moreover, in the Arrangement of the Zamatog it says: This is the sacred essence of the heart of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara. Those beings who hold and recite the six-syllable mantra are endowed with merit. When they recite it, ninety-nine kotis of Buddhas, as many as the sands of the Ganges, will gather. Bodhisattvas as numerous as atoms will gather. The six pāramitās will abide at the door. Furthermore, the sons of the gods of the thirty-two classes of gods will gather. The four great kings will protect from the four directions. The dragon king and many billions of dragons will completely protect. The yakshas of the earth gods will protect without concealment. In each of its pores, billions of Tathāgatas reside. You will obtain the wish-fulfilling jewel even up to seven generations of your lineage. All the creatures in the body will also be placed in the irreversible state, and will be granted "Excellent! Excellent!". If some wear it on their body, that is the vajra body, the relic stupa, it should be recognized as the wisdom of the Victorious Ones. Whoever recites this, their courage will not be exhausted, the heap of wisdom will be completely purified, and they will be endowed with great compassion, perfecting the six pāramitās each day, and will quickly obtain the chakravartin position of the vidyādhara and the unsurpassed bodhi. Any sentient beings, even those born in the animal realm, if they see or think of it in their mind, they will pacify the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death, and will become Bodhisattvas who are the last of existence.
