Then say to the bad friend: Please show this venerable one's alms bowl to the Sangha. The monk who shows the alms bowl puts a flower in it, puts it in his left hand, and covers it with his right hand. Standing in front of each monk, in a humble manner, say: Venerable ones or venerable ones, please listen. Is this alms bowl of the venerable one named so-and-so not small, not big, or not bad? After saying that, if all the monks feel that the alms bowl is not like that, they should each say: The alms bowl is good. If you don't say that, the monk will commit a serious crime. Holding that alms bowl with his left hand,

Cover it with a lid. This is called a bowl because it is used to hold food, and it is different from the bowls of householders and the begging bowls of heretics. It is a special mark of the utensils of the ordained. Just as this can be used as a container for food, it can also be used as a container for one's own qualities. Just as one enjoys food from within this, one can also enjoy the food of the Dharma, etc., which is a symbol of merit. Therefore, it is allowed as a branch of asceticism, so imitate, thinking of blessing the bowl as a tool for the life of a monk. Abbot, please listen. I, named so-and-so, bless this bowl, which is suitable for eating, this vessel of the upright, as a vessel for begging. Repeat this two or three times in the same way, the method should be good. Then hand over the cushion. This is a type of clothing called a Dharma robe cushion. Except for the white clothes of householders and those who have hardly eliminated anger, and the grass mats of the Sangha, all dwellings must be covered with this to enjoy. In short, except for the grass beds and low beds of the Sangha, for items above the mat, if there is no other cushion, and the cushion cover is not allowed to obstruct, do not use it closely. The same applies to all those who have hardly eliminated anger. Do not use bad items or items with dirt. It is said. From this, it can be inferred that one must avoid enjoying the possessions of others without hesitation. It is said. Hand over the water strainer. This is a water strainer. Because the Buddha's teachings are distinguished by compassion, it is necessary to fundamentally prevent harm to all sentient beings. In particular, water is very important, easy to occur, and needs to be enjoyed internally and externally, so do not enjoy water with living beings, cultivate great compassion, and for that purpose, also hold such a thing. That is to make the utensils manifest, bless the Dharma robe and bowl and then give alms, those are all the Dharmas that the Abbot is to practice are completed. The third combining Dharma is secret instruction, appointing and asking about obstacles is divided into two parts. Preliminary and main part. The first part is, if it has not been done before, then confession and restraint should be done, and common transgressions should be given.
