Thus it is declared. Venerable, from now on, even if it is a joke, you should not knowingly lie, let alone knowingly speak of superior human qualities. Venerable, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One, the Knower and Seer, said: Furthermore, if a bhikshu, who has not directly known or fully understood, claims to know and see all superior human qualities, as well as noble qualities, special attainments, wisdom, vision, and conduct, while in fact he does not, and desires to be purified from the offense he has committed, whether he is asked about it after some time or not, if he says: 'Venerables, I said I saw what I had not seen, I said I heard what I had not heard, I spoke falsely,' then, apart from the great lie, that bhikshu has also failed and should not live with the community. Thus it is declared. If asked what he knows, he says he knows suffering, the arising of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the path. If asked what he sees, he says he sees the gods, the nagas, the yakshas, the garudas, the gandharvas, the kinnaras, the mahoragas, the pretas, the flesh-eaters, the kumbhandas, the stinking ones, the body-stinking ones, and the flesh-eaters in the dust. The gods also see me, the nagas, the yakshas, the garudas, the gandharvas, the kinnaras, the mahoragas, the pretas, the flesh-eaters, the kumbhandas, the stinking ones, the body-stinking ones, and the flesh-eaters in the dust also see me. I hear the voices of the gods, I hear the voices of the nagas, the yakshas, the garudas, the gandharvas, the kinnaras, the mahoragas, the pretas, the flesh-eaters, the kumbhandas, the stinking ones, the body-stinking ones, and the flesh-eaters in the dust. The Matrkas and Rakshasas, as well as the embodied Rakshasas and the flesh-eaters in the dust, also heard my voice. The gods go forth to see, the Nagas and Yakshas and Gandharvas and Apsaras and Kinnaras and Mahoragas and Pretas and flesh-eaters and Kumbhandas and Rakshasas, as well as the embodied Rakshasas and the flesh-eaters in the dust, go forth to see. The gods converse together, say to come, each rejoices, and always dwells together. The Nagas and Yakshas and Gandharvas and Apsaras and Kinnaras and Mahoragas and Pretas and flesh-eaters and Kumbhandas and Rakshasas, as well as the embodied Rakshasas and the flesh-eaters in the dust, converse together, say to come, each rejoices, and always dwells together. Before attainment, I have the perception of impermanence, and the perception of suffering in impermanence, and the perception of no-self in suffering, and the perception of disagreeableness in food, and the perception of displeasure in all the world, and the perception of fault, and the perception of abandonment, and the perception of detachment from desire, and the perception of cessation, and the perception of death, and displeasure

The perception of swelling, the perception of cyanosis, the perception of putrefaction, the perception of disintegration, the perception of being eaten, the perception of being smeared with blood, the perception of separation, the perception of bones, and the perception of individually realizing emptiness were all obtained. Before obtaining them, I obtained the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, the fourth dhyana, loving-kindness, compassion, joy, equanimity, the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, as well as the fruit of stream-entry, the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, the fruit of Arhatship, the realm of miraculous powers, divine hearing, knowledge of others' minds, recollection of past lives, death and rebirth, and the exhaustion of defilements. I am an Arhat, liberated from the eight liberations, from both meditation and the two divisions. Thus it is said. If a Bhikshu acts in such a way, then as soon as he acts, he should not be a Bhikshu, should not be a Shramana, should not be a son of the Buddha, and will fall away from the nature of a Bhikshu. His practice as a Shramana will be destroyed, and he will have fallen away, been destroyed, fallen, and failed, and his practice as a Shramana will be irretrievable. This is like cutting off the head of a palm tree, which cannot be made green again, nor can it be made to grow, expand, or widen. From now on, you should diligently guard your mind with mindfulness and awareness against what you should not do, should not act, and should not practice. How should you not act in this way? It should be said that he does not act. After he has spoken of the laws of downfall that should be abandoned, the general nature of the antidotes, there are two laws that are practiced as Shramanas. First, from ceasing to harm sentient beings outwardly, and inwardly, one should endure, thus he advises: Venerable one, listen! These four are the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, the Knower and Seer, who thus ordained and fully ordained.
