Then, venerable Sangha, please listen. I, the abbot named "this," the one named "this," if I conceal the obstacles and then reveal them, will those obstacles be completely purified? If it is indeed so, what then? Everyone should say, "If it is completely purified, then it is good." One should say this. If one says this, it is correct. If one does not say it, it will be a serious offense. This is requesting to come. Then, to the one to be ordained, the Sangha says, "Please allow him to come in." After entering, he prostrates three times and is seated. This is to examine whether he is completely pure or not. Therefore, a secret informant is appointed to secretly inquire about obstacles, and after confirming his purity, he requests to come in and is brought into the Sangha. Fourth, to request the Sangha for full ordination: The officiating preceptor instructs the candidate to prostrate three times to the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and himself. Then, on top of the lower garment, he presses down on the grass roots with his heels, squats, joins his palms, and sits. He is instructed, "You must petition the Sangha to receive full ordination." As stated in the root text, "One should receive full ordination from the Sangha." Therefore, in the central region, the Sangha must consist of ten Vinaya holders, and in the border regions, it must consist of five. One must petition in the presence of those who possess the qualities, where the paths converge, where there is no turning back after converging, and where there are no two who disagree. Therefore, there are five aspects to the petition. The first, the meaning of "Please grant full ordination," is: The Sanskrit word for full ordination is Upasampadā (藏文：ཨུ་པ་，梵文天城体：उप，梵文罗马拟音：upa，汉语字面意思：近). "Upa" means near, and "sampadā" means complete. It is an indeclinable compound word. Therefore, "upasampadā" means near to completion. Therefore, completion is nirvana. The monastic vows of a fully ordained monk are close to that. Therefore, for the sake of complete enlightenment, which possesses all qualities, one prays for full ordination with the meaning of approaching through thought and action.
