Focus on one point. Cut off thoughts of the past and future, do not welcome them, and do not disturb the present awareness; abide in a state of non-thought. Thus, the body, speech, and mind abide in the three solitudes, which are the four non-dependencies: not depending on the enjoyment of the body, not depending on the enjoyment of speech, and not depending on the enjoyment of the mind. Separately, the method of gathering is: by fixing the time for earth and wind to move, or, through the interdependent arising of gradually moving the wind through the right nostril, non-conceptualization can arise. At that time, meditate. Meditate in the evening, at dawn, in the morning, and in the afternoon. The middle of the day and night, and the time of dusk, are times of dullness and agitation, so rest. The posture of the body is as previously shown. Having done the expulsion of the wind's toxins, etc., fix the gaze steadily from the brow to sixteen fingers above. Let the speech and breath relax naturally. The main thing is to let the mind abide in non-conceptualization. At that time, if a thought arises slightly, control the awareness with the gaze. Cherish focusing the mind, eyes, and breath on one point, and abiding the awareness on one point. At that time, if thoughts run on objects, cut off the past and future, and let the present awareness abide without fabrication. If those methods of abiding the mind cause awareness to become scattered, loosen the effort of tightening and relax, but do not forget to guard slightly with unscattered mindfulness. The yoga of the daytime is: in the vast sky to the east and west, when there is no white glare from snow, etc., when there are no clouds or hail, face west in the morning and east in the afternoon, and the gaze, body posture, and way of abiding the mind should be as before. Take a break at noon. If dullness is dominant during those two pith instruction yogas, then with the body posture of sitting in the lotus position with the hands on the knees, hold the breath slightly and then exhale forcefully from both the mouth and nose. If agitation is dominant, visualize the body as a ball of light, and then gradually make it smaller and smaller, finer and finer, entering into non-objectification and eliminating it. Through the power of striving single-mindedly in those yogas, wind and mind enter the Avadhuti through the Vajra path, and the appearance of clear light arises.
