If you are clear about which yidam you are practicing, then visualize the actual three-tiered deity, or visualize its symbolic meaning, which is a round bindu in the heart. In the center of the bindu, visualize the seed syllable of the yidam. From that, rays of light emanate, filling the entire body. Visualize your own body becoming a mass of light, disappearing without any specific focus. In this, it is sufficient to think that while your own body dissolves into emptiness, all hatred also vanishes. The second method is: From the seed syllable and bindu in the heart, rays of light emanate. All outer environments become immeasurable palaces, and all inner beings become the forms of the yidam. All of these dissolve into light. These gradually gather, becoming smaller and smaller, and dissolve into your own body. Your own body, which has become a mass of light, also gradually gathers from the outside in, and dissolves into the bindu in the heart. That also dissolves into the seed syllable. That also gradually gathers up to the nada (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད, Sanskrit Devanagari: नाद, Sanskrit Romanization: nāda, meaning: sound). From the state of emptiness, again visualize the form of the yidam, complete with the bindu and seed syllable. From the seed syllable and bindu, rays of light emanate. All outer environments and inner beings become deity forms. All of these dissolve into light. Gradually, they gather inward. They dissolve into your own body. That also dissolves into light, and when it dissolves into the bindu in the heart, visualize that the nada also disappears. The fourth method is: Visualize yourself and all others as deity forms, and although they all dissolve into emptiness, it is difficult for beginners to manifest everything as an object of visualization. Therefore, actually visualize the ten types of beings, etc., that you can clearly visualize. Think that all other beings dissolve into these beings. Visualize yourself and these beings also as the forms of the yidam, and visualize the bindu and seed syllable in the hearts of each of them. From the seed syllable and bindu of each of them, rays of light emanate. All outer environments become palaces, and all inner beings are visualized as deity forms. All of these dissolve into light. Gradually, they gather inward. They dissolve into the bodies of the yidams that are visualized by each of them. That also dissolves into light, and dissolves into the bindu in the heart of each of them. That dissolves into the seed syllable of each of them, and visualize until the nada also disappears and becomes emptiness. Fifth, regarding the instructions for action mudra, the preliminary guru yoga is: On your own crown or in front of you, on a lion throne, on a lotus, sun, and moon cushion, the form of the root guru embraces the essence of Vajradhatvishvari, appearing as a woman. Visualize Vairochana father and mother at the guru's forehead, Amitabha father and mother at the throat, and Akshobhya father and mother at the heart.

Visualize Vairochana Buddha father and mother in the forehead, Ratnasambhava Buddha father and mother in the navel, and Amoghasiddhi Buddha father and mother in the secret place. After praying, Vairochana Buddha father and mother unite, and from the union, an immeasurable stream of bodhicitta arises. It enters from the crown chakra and fills the entire body, and one contemplates receiving the vase empowerment. Amitabha Buddha father and mother unite in the throat, and from the union, a stream of bodhicitta arises. It enters from the crown chakra and fills the entire body, and one contemplates receiving the secret empowerment. Akshobhya Buddha father and mother unite in the heart, and from the union, a stream of bodhicitta arises. It enters from the crown chakra and fills the entire body, and one contemplates receiving the wisdom-jnana empowerment. Similarly, Ratnasambhava Buddha father and mother unite in the navel, and from the union, a stream of bodhicitta water descends, and one contemplates filling the entire body. Amoghasiddhi Buddha father and mother unite in the secret place, and from the union, a stream of bodhicitta water descends. It enters from the crown chakra and fills the entire body, and one contemplates receiving the four empowerments. The second preliminary practice is channel cleansing: On one's own ordinary body, clearly visualize the approximate locations of the three channels and four chakras. In the center of the great bliss chakra at the crown, visualize white Vairochana Heruka, holding a wheel and bell, adorned with bone ornaments, abiding with the left leg bent and the right leg extended, in union with Buddha Lochana. Mentally emanate immeasurable offerings and pray for blessings. After praying in this way, from the union of Vairochana Buddha father and mother, an immeasurable stream of bodhicitta water arises, and one contemplates washing and purifying the crown chakra. Then it passes sequentially, pervading all locations of the four chakras, and one contemplates that all sins and obscurations are washed and purified. One can recite either vase breathing or any of the Heruka Hundred Syllable Mantra. In the center of the enjoyment chakra at the throat, visualize Amitabha Heruka father and mother, offer offerings and pray, and from the union of Amitabha Buddha father and mother, an immeasurable stream of bodhicitta water arises, washing the throat chakra. Then it flows upwards and downwards, washing and purifying all four chakras.
