That which is called appearance is the appearance of external and internal things generated by those elements, which, although it is a thought, is simultaneous with the arising of emptiness at the moment of appearance, and because it exists simultaneously, it is said to occur simultaneously. That is, at the moment of appearance, emptiness is also blissful, so it is said to be simultaneous. Therefore, appearance is the appearance of the wisdom of emptiness, so it is said to be the clear and bright appearance of wisdom. Thus, the appearance of thought is not in one's own continuum, but becomes one with the appearance of wisdom, without being two, so it is said that thought is one. Shavari said: If the union of the sun and moon is not understood, it is like the many forms of water waves. If that becomes one, there is no power of difference here. The union of the sun and moon refers to the sun as appearance and the moon as emptiness. Or the sun refers to means and the moon refers to wisdom. The union of the two refers to the union of appearance and emptiness, or if the two, means and wisdom, cannot be combined, it is said that there are many forms like water waves. Just as water, in the ocean, is one but becomes many waves. The meaning of non-duality becomes many thoughts of differentiation. So, what does the union of the sun and moon refer to? In response, it is said: If that becomes one, there is no grasping of difference here. That refers to the dualistic differentiation mentioned above. Becoming one means that in the original nature itself, there is no autonomous thought, and the nature of thought becomes one with the original nature, so it is said that no difference arises here. What does "here" refer to? It refers to the original nature of Dharmata, in which no autonomous thought arises, and in the original Dharmata, thought is one. Tsorang said: Here there is not even a speck of fault, it is not born of fabrication. So it is said. Here there is not even a speck of fault, in what is there none? In the original nature of Dharmata there is none. In what is there no fault? In the autonomous thought mentioned above, there is not even a speck of fault. Why is there none? It is not born of fabrication. The so-called fabrication means that it is not born from the dependent arising of means and what is born from means, but is the quality of the self-nature of Dharmata or merely an appearance. Binasa said: In the ocean of non-discrimination, the mountains of discrimination all sink, grasp

In the appearance of suchness, how could there be clinging to conceptualization? Thus it was said. 'Non-conceptual' means: it is difficult to separate from the mere recollection of suchness, and in that great ocean-like state, 'conceptualization' means that the conceptualization of self-sustaining recollection, which is like a mountain, is made into a lamp. Because the conceptualizations subside into suchness, it is called 'subsiding'. What is the reason for subsiding? 'The appearance of clinging is in suchness,' meaning that as soon as the appearance of clinging is known to be suchness, there is no conceptualization of clinging to things, so how could there be conceptualization of clinging? Thus, Saraha taught the single instruction of recollection. Then, the master Minapa taught an instruction on the elements, eating, and wearing clothes: 'In the vase-like body, the light of the elements, above, dissolves into the nectar of the gods. In the sphere of the light of suchness, the conceptualizations of the six aggregates are completely exhausted.' Thus it was said. 'In the vase-like body, the light of the elements' means that it is first done from the perspective of the generation stage. First, meditate on the palace of the body as becoming one like a vase. Within that, the light of the elements is the wind of fire from yaṃ(藏文,梵文天城体,yam, wind), like a solar disc, meditate on the color red, one and a half bow-lengths. From the force of that coarse wind, from the red raṃ(藏文,梵文天城体,ram, fire), expanding and contracting, meditate on the red color of fire being together with the wind. From its vapor and dew, the water of fire, meditate on the color red in the form of light. From its essence, in yellow, expanding and contracting, meditate on it being equal to a clod of fire earth. 'Above that, the nectar of the gods dissolves' means that above that palace of the light of the elements, the essence of mind itself, which is of the nature of a deity, is a single white hūṃ(藏文,梵文天城体,hūṃ,seed syllable), expanding and contracting, dissolving into nectar. Gradually, as it dissolves into those elements, those elements become a single vase of the outer vessel of the body. The essence of mind, the nature of a deity, which has the nature of earth, fire, and wind, is the nature of suchness? Transforming the illusion into hūṃ(藏文,梵文天城体,hūṃ,seed syllable), dissolving into light, when it is in the sphere of suchness within the vase of light, by focusing the mind like the essence of the self-illuminating sun, the conceptualizations of the six aggregates are exhausted or cease. By looking inward at the six aggregates, an understanding arises like a lamp within a vase of clear light. With the heat sign of that samadhi, the outer elements are the body.
