He directly revealed the mandala and bestowed the instructions of Doha and Ratnavali, along with their history. By practicing these instructions, he attained extraordinary realization and became a master of accomplishment. He also compiled the scattered Dohas into a single volume. He transmitted these to the Brahmin Pandit Kamala. Kamala then transmitted them to the accomplished hermit Jamaripa. Jamaripa then transmitted them to the Pandit of Magadha, Fearless Giving Glory. Fearless Giving Glory composed commentaries and biographies of the Dohas. All of these were translated into Tibetan by the Pandit himself and the father and son translators of Minyak, Monlam Sherab, and were established through teaching and study, thus flourishing. The two Doha biographies are considered reliable by all the knowledgeable compilers of the early Tenjur. Therefore, they are undisputed and trustworthy, residing in all the Tenjurs of U-Tsang. In order to accomplish such a practice with a lineage of blessings, first, as a way to open the door, in order to accomplish the four empowerments of the root guru, please offer the mandala. Having said this, begin the mandala offering. Then, please visualize as follows: This mandala in front of you is the pure realm where the root guru manifests perfect enlightenment, its expanse is immeasurable and boundless, filled with wondrous sights, and pervaded by clouds of self-arisen offerings. In the center, upon a lion throne, lotus, sun, and moon, the essence of the embodiment of all Buddhas of the three times, the venerable root guru, the great Vajradhara, whose body color is blue like a heap of indigo sapphires, blazing with light. Extremely peaceful, with clear and complete marks and signs. The two hands hold a vajra and bell in a crossed posture at the heart, enjoying the bliss of self-arisen supreme wisdom, seated in the vajra posture. Adorned with silk and precious jewels. The very nature of being able to generate the wisdom of great bliss merely by remembering, abiding as the embodiment of the three roots. I offer my body, possessions, and the accumulations of merit of the three times, including the container world and its contents, and the support and supported, in the form of a mandala, offer the mandala with such faith. Ground sprinkled with incense... Again, this ripened body of yours, the skull of the head is hacked open by Hag...
