becoming an obstacle. Therefore, one should learn these four methods of abiding in order. The time is until a black line appears in the bindu. One cannot be liberated by retraction alone. The sign of night is the absorption of coarse ordinary appearances, and the sign of day is the difference of the absorption of subtle ordinary appearances. To increase, fill a precious vessel with clean water, let your own face appear in it, stare at your eyes for a long time, and focus your mind. Then, entering yoga, various signs will appear. That is, accumulating karma with the knowledge of grasping and being grasped is the coarse ordinary appearance. This is explained from the accumulation of karmic appearances. The meeting of root and object and the arising of grasping and being grasped is the subtle ordinary appearance. This is called the appearance of self-nature. Therefore, the latter gives rise to the former, so the names of coarse and subtle are established. In the yoga of night, although appearances do not cease, attachment begins to cease. It is not appearances that bind, but attachment that binds. For example, for a small child, although Lha byin (Devadatta) appears, he does not appear as either an enemy or a friend, so he does not generate afflictions. Others grasp him as an enemy or a friend, and generate hatred or attachment, like afflictions. Therefore, for both coarse and subtle, the order of absorption is earth dissolving into water, water dissolving into fire, fire dissolving into wind, wind dissolving into space, and space dissolving into consciousness. Consciousness also has two types, with and without conceptualization. When dissolving into the latter, the beginning of meditation begins. With conceptualization refers to the time when samadhi has not yet become stable, and the latter refers to when it has become stable. This is called universal illumination. Therefore, after the sixth sign of day appears, one touches meditation, so its yoga is taught. Therefore, at night, the winds are bound separately in the channels, etc., and during the day, the five elements are bound on their own paths. During meditation, the life-force energy descends into the central channel, and thus the vehicle of the three appearances is bound. The first two enter the central channel slightly through gradual accumulation and gradual dispersion. The sutras say that this is entering the vajra path, which refers to the case where liberation can be achieved only by this at the beginning, so one should distinguish the guru's instructions. The key to accomplishing the supreme speech in retraction is also this. The supreme speech refers to something like the fulfillment of a curse by a sage. Second, meditation, the cause of meditation and

Or, there are two ways to generate the fruit of clairvoyance. The first is: Dhyana (meditative concentration) has five branches, namely, dhyana also includes wisdom, investigation, analysis, joy, unwavering bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. Therefore, one-pointedness of mind is the common characteristic of all branches. The individual branches are: wisdom, investigation, analysis, joy, and bliss. That is to say, first, one observes that the appearances of previous images are not different from the nature of mind itself, then one examines and analyzes external and internal objects, and after analysis, one gains certainty in the meaning of non-difference, and obtains joy free from attachment to it, and by realizing that form and mind are one, one obtains the unwavering bliss of extreme pliancy of the body. These five methods must be cultivated. If these branches can truly be used for Samadhi, they will arise naturally, so there is no need to deliberately strive to generate each branch, but once they arise in the continuum, one must strive to make it the only focus, just like a river continuously extending. The second is: If one obtains the cause of dhyana, the fruits of clairvoyance and so on will arise. However, if one wants to generate them quickly, one should fix one's eyes on the shadow of a tree or the shadow of one's body, and cultivate it with the branches of dhyana, which will transform into the clairvoyance of the divine eye, enabling one to see underground treasures and many pure lands. By placing one's ear close to the sound of a great river and meditating as before, one will obtain the divine ear, enabling one to hear distant sounds, and so on. By visualizing the veins in the heart of another person, like a water-born flower hanging downwards, one will generate the clairvoyance of knowing the minds of others. By visualizing the veins in one's own heart, one will obtain the clairvoyance of remembering past lives and knowing the realm of magical powers. Thus, through dhyana, the upper path is blocked, and the lower path is also blocked, thereby opening the conch shell mouth below, allowing wind and consciousness to enter, thus unraveling all the knots of the veins and becoming unobstructed in the central channel. As the Root Tantra says: "After meditating on smoke and so on, the mind should be unwavering, after cultivating the central channel, one will accomplish the supreme unchanging." After that, one can begin to practice pranayama. The third is the practice of pranayama, including the posture of the body, the gaze of the eyes, and the actual practice of pranayama.
