. It should be white on the outside, and it should be such that even a light as thin as a horse's tail hair cannot penetrate if blocked by soil or stones. The place of complete renunciation is: earth caves, rock caves, houses, etc., arrange as appropriate. However, it must be a dry place, free of ground moisture, and extremely dark. If these conditions are met, any place will do. The method of practicing the preliminary practices in that place is: In the first session, take refuge and generate bodhicitta. Perform the guru yoga generation stage, etc., with the body posture as comfortable as possible. In the later sessions, it is sufficient to practice a condensed version of taking refuge and generating bodhicitta, and to generate a little faith and respect for the guru. If you have not gained experience in the two guides of accumulation and purification, you must also do the letter guidance and mandala in the first session. Immediately after completing taking refuge and generating bodhicitta, practice the visualization and recitation of Vajrasattva (藏文:རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ།,梵文天城体:वज्रसत्त्व,梵文罗马拟音:Vajrasattva,汉语字面意思:金刚萨埵), and in the process, practice mandala, guru yoga, and from purifying with emptiness (藏文:ཤུནྱ་ཏ,梵文天城体:शून्यता,梵文罗马拟音:Śūnyatā,汉语字面意思:空性) to settling the mind, also practice the generation stage. Among them, if you want to be a little more detailed, do as previously stated; if you want to be more concise, do not integrate the refuge object into yourself during refuge, but invite them to stay in front of you, and offer the mandala during the mandala practice, and only do the guru yoga such as prayers to them, which will be easy and to the point. The preliminary practice of a session is not only like this during the practice of the three solitudes, but it is the same in all times from then on until the main practice, etc. The actual practice of the three solitudes is: Spread a small meditation cushion in the dark room, the body posture is the vajra posture with legs crossed, the spine and back of the neck are straight, the throat is slightly pressed against the Adam's apple, the lips are naturally relaxed, the tip of the tongue touches the palate, the eyes look at the empty space, and the hands can be as comfortable as possible at this time, but because the hands must be clenched and placed on the thighs during the main practice, in order to be proficient, do it here as well: Press the root of the index finger with the thumb, and press the root of the thigh with the fist clenched from the outside with other fingers, and straighten the arm. The eyes are also rolled upwards as if looking at the sky above, similar to the main practice, without opening or closing, etc., and remain motionless. As soon as the body posture is set like this, it is the same as before when the energy channels were disturbed.

To eliminate wandering and prevent wind disorders later, exhale stale air three times through the nostrils with a 'sang' sound. After that, until the break, let the breath be natural. Let it flow freely. Do not think about anything in your mind. Do not focus on anything. Do not deliberately tighten, do not deliberately loosen. Do not stare at the sky or anything else. Do not deliberately look at yourself either. Do not rely on anything, but in that state where anything can arise, relax without fabrication. It is good if you can stay in that state and meditate. If the mind wanders, you must rely on the antidote. There are two ways of wandering: When the mind wanders from its abiding, random thoughts arise spontaneously, and the images of objects such as forms appear vividly in the mind. As soon as they arise, you recognize that the mind has wandered. Do not like or dislike that wandering, and do not analyze anything. That itself cuts off the wandering completely. It is enough to maintain the previous way of abiding the mind. Another way is that one thought leads to another, wandering into various kinds, and drifting for a long time, which is a great fault. However, as soon as this is caught by mindfulness, you must resolve that this drifting and wandering should not happen again. Whenever you wander, let mindfulness catch it. In a state of not thinking about anything, gather awareness inwardly. By repeatedly monitoring with awareness whether the mind abides or does not abide, wanders or does not wander, the tendency to drift and wander will become smaller and smaller, and soon it will stop. Meditate like that, focusing on one point. At the end of the session, dedicate the merit as before. During the breaks between sessions, also do not separate from the state of un fabricated mind, and do not speak idle talk. Urge yourself with the whip of body and speech. By meditating like this, whatever experiences arise, whether bodily experiences, speech experiences, mind experiences, experiences of vision, dreams, etc., do not accumulate or block the experiences, but in a natural state, let whatever happens happen, and maintain it freely. As it is said: Do not regard anything as a fault, but take everything as an experience. Do not expect warmth signs, etc. Although the meditation of no meditation is taught, do not indulge in laziness and carelessness. It is as it is said. In all the breaks between sessions, do not expect improvement, and do not fear faults.
