This is about the meaning of gaining control over the land. In "Stainless Light," it says, "Meditate on the various forms of the ten realms and the possessors of realms as one." Therefore, one should single-mindedly focus on the luminous empty form that possesses all perfections, and gain the power to freely control abiding and moving. Generally speaking, this is the same as how the exoteric tradition explains the meaning of meditation as single-mindedly focusing on the object of focus. Second, if one can completely perfect the gathering, that is the best. If not, it is also the time when the stable appearance of the signs of luminosity arises. Third, in "Brief Explanation of Empowerment," it says, "Like a dream, forms will be seen, constantly meditate on that form." Therefore, the nature of meditation is the samadhi of single-mindedly focusing on the signs of luminosity. Its limbs are, in the "Condensed Sutra," it says, "Meditation is also wisdom, discrimination, joy, and immovability, this is the single-minded hero." This is also the wisdom of single-mindedly focusing on the ten signs of luminosity. As it is said, the so-called "discrimination" is grasping at things. Therefore, knowing the characteristics of the empty form that has the name of things is discrimination. The way to know its characteristics is also to personally experience that it is only one's own mind. For the nature of mind that appears as empty form, not being tainted by the grasping and the grasped, or the distinctions and elaborations of the realm and the possessor of the realm, but experiencing and ascertaining it, this is the limb of conduct. The bliss of mind brought about by samadhi has two ways of arising in succession, outward and inward. Outward is like gaining a great treasure that one has never had before, giving rise to joy and happiness, this is the limb of bliss. Inward is experiencing the samadhi itself appearing as bliss, this is the limb of immovable bliss. Because of this, the body is pervaded by a special bliss of extreme pliancy, this is another benefit of immovable bliss. That is to say, first pure wisdom arises, then it arises with both discrimination, similarly, with conduct all three, with joy all four, with immovable bliss all five. At that time, the limbs of meditation are said to have fully arisen in the continuum. Therefore, if one continuously cultivates it, the qualities of perfection will quickly arise.

Regarding this aspect, the tantra states, "In the center of that, the Buddha's form is separate from place and form, and is the complete enjoyment body." This indicates the uncommon signs of meditation, the images of all three realms gathered by the ten signs, which are even more excellent than what was seen during the previous stage of absorption. The appearances of various forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tangible objects, various colors, also radiate light, are extremely subtle, shimmering, trembling, and difficult to destroy. These five qualities are seen marked by many bindus, and in the center of the bindus, many images of the Buddha appear. This is also because one realizes the appearance of the purity of mind itself. Therefore, from the perspective of conventional truth, all appearances naturally arise like illusions. As the Later Tantra says, "For this, the mind, through stable meditation, can also completely abandon external objects." The standard of measurement is the same as the absorption stage, and its supporting faculty is the divine eye. By this cause, the five kinds of clairvoyance can also be accomplished. In the fifth aspect, the basis of purification is as previously described in the absorption stage. When distinguishing the objects to be purified, the aggregates of consciousness, etc., and the space element among the six elements are classified as one unit. If one distinguishes the method of purification, which is the branch of meditation itself, there are the five branches of object-possessing meditation and its five objects, the empty forms, making a total of ten. In the sixth aspect, the tantra states, "The five kinds of clairvoyance will be obtained, the lord of men will be purified through the practice of meditation." Therefore, when meditation reaches its culmination, the temporary result, the five kinds of clairvoyance, will naturally arise, and the ultimate result, the Buddhas like Akshobhya and the deities of the six elements, will manifest. Here, I will briefly mention some supplementary instructions. When the branch of wisdom arises in the continuum, an empty form will appear wherever the mind is focused. Then, by meditating on the key instruction of holding the clear light on top of the appearance, the karmic appearances of whatever external appearance the mind is placed on will cease in an instant and transform into the appearance of clear light. If this is the case, in the morning and evening, one can look at the center of the shadow of one's own naked body, or one can look at the shadow of a tree at noon, slightly fluttering the eyes.
