The five are: the key instruction of going first, the key instruction of recognizing the mind, the key instruction of separating the blessing from the body and mind, meditation resting in the natural state, and the view not falling into the realm of demons. The first has ten: taking refuge, generating the mind, taking vows, supplicating, prostrating, offering vast offerings, special refuge and aspiration prayers, confessing sins, rejoicing, and dedicating these to unsurpassed enlightenment. Second, recognizing the mind is: that also, from beginningless samsara until now, wandering in the three realms and wandering in the six realms, from what did this come? One does not recognize oneself, one does not grasp the key instruction of the lama, and one's own effort of diligence is small, it comes from these three. Even from now on, if you let go of your intelligence and do not diligently practice the key instruction of the lama, you will not be liberated from the great suffering of samsara, so you should be held by your own faith and mindfulness, and encouraged by faith and diligence, without letting go for even a moment under the control of distraction and laziness, you must listen to and comprehend the key instruction of the holy lama and all the profound teachings of the Buddhas, and practice them. To practice, one must practice the precious mind of enlightenment. In that, first one must recognize what kind of mind it is. There are two, the recognition of the mind, and the method of showing how to abide. In that, the recognition is: that Bodhicitta, in the beginning, does not arise from cause, in the middle, it is not produced by conditions, and in the end, there is no birth, death, change, or transformation, the essence is separated from all recognition, the characteristics cannot be pointed out, the nature is clear and clear and without conceptualization, the meaning is gathered and unconditioned. One should know that it is just that. That is also from the Great Mother: The mind is unchanging and without conceptualization. And: The mind is not mind, the nature of the mind is luminosity. And so on. Second, there are seven methods for showing how to abide: abiding without fabrication, without adulteration, without abandonment, without distraction, in one's own way, in one's own place, abiding in the natural state. The first is: knowing that the meaning of the awareness of the mind of enlightenment is naturally abiding on the nature of reality.

First, relax and rest in your own nature. Softly, clearly, brightly, openly, spread out impartially, pervade without awareness, clearly, calmly, like joy fading away, without losing your mind to any conceptual thoughts, rest in a comfortable state. Second, resting without being disturbed by conceptual thoughts: resting your own mind in an unaltered state, without thinking of anything. Whether it is like or dislike, happiness or suffering, hot or cold, food or drink, enemies or friends, self or others, attachment to desires, samsara or nirvana, do not think of anything. As it says in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra: "Not thinking of form, and not thinking up to all-knowingness, one will not fall into the desire realm, will not fall into the form realm, will not fall into the formless realm." Third, resting without being transformed by an object: let your own mind not be moved by anything, rest without arrogance. Because there is no obscuration in the mind, there is no fear. Having completely transcended perversion, one has reached the end of nirvana. As it says. Fourth, resting without being distracted by the objects of the six senses: in an inconceivable state, the mind is naturally clear, pure, and happy, without being distracted by any thoughts of good or bad objects, like the sky, continuously resting. As it says in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra: "All phenomena are dependent on the sky, and they do not go beyond that dependence." Fifth, the nature of oneself should be placed in suchness: the mind's thoughts are not lost to any conceptual thoughts, in a state of happiness, emptiness, and clarity, let awareness rest without support. As it says in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra: "The Perfection of Wisdom is equality, therefore all phenomena are equality." Sixth, not introducing concepts but resting in one's own state: the mind itself has been resting in the nature of reality as it is from the beginning, resting in a state of not clinging to anything, openly and freely. Seventh, resting in the original, natural state: the nature of reality has been present from the beginning, and for that realm of reality, there is no confused thought, in a vast and boundless state, without any effort or fabrication, naturally resting. As it says in the Condensed Sutra: "This is inseparable from the realm of space, and cannot be divided." Thus, the nature of mind
