The Fourteenth Volume of the Treasury of Instructions. The Quintessential Instructions on the Perfection of Wisdom: Questions and Answers. The Quintessential Instructions on the Perfection of Wisdom: Questions and Answers. Emaho! Mama Min, Wisdom Dakini! I prostrate to the Vajra Realm! How rare is it to obtain a human body? (Someone) asked: When seeing the bodies of other sentient beings, obtaining a human body is as if it does not exist. When seeing scattered bodies, obtaining a human body is as if it is possible. Compared to other sentient beings, (obtaining a human body) is even rarer than a Chakravartin. (The Dakini) said: How rare is it to practice the sacred Dharma? (Someone) asked: If the people of the borderlands restrain those who do not remember the sacred Dharma, then those who practice the sacred Dharma are rarer than the Udumbara flower. (The Dakini) said: What is it like to commit sins? (Someone) asked: People who commit sins are like a child grabbing a flame, a fool swallowing poison, a madman jumping off a cliff, or a demon-possessed person committing suicide. They buy suffering for themselves. They will never obtain happiness. They will always be in the swamp of samsara. They experience suffering in karma, cycling like the handle of a water bucket. Before the previous karma ripens, there are future evil deeds and obscurations, etc. Therefore, committing sins is very foolish. (The Dakini) said: What are the merits of faith? (Someone) asked: Faith is like fertile land, faith is like a skilled craftsman who supports a family, faith is like a wise woman, faith is like a kind cow, faith is like a prolific ewe. For those who have these, it is as if all needs arise naturally. Having faith will be the same. (The Dakini) said: If faith is great but diligence is small, what will happen? (Someone) asked: Having faith but little diligence is like a parrot trapped in a cage, like fertile land left uncultivated, like forgetting the fermentation process of brewing alcohol. Although there is an internal factor, there is no external condition. Even if faith is great, one is just an ordinary person, unable to become extraordinary, and the meaning becomes small. (The Dakini) said: If faith and diligence are both present, what will happen? (Someone) asked: If faith is like fertile land and diligence is like cultivation, then one will obtain unsurpassed Bodhi. The human body becomes meaningful. One is kind to oneself. Ultimately, cultivation is completed.

Said: What is the most supreme of all dharmas? Asked, The Great Mother Prajnaparamita, spoken by all the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, is said to be the most supreme among all dharmas. Said: What are the benefits of practicing it? Asked, Without counting the grounds and paths, whoever abides in the meaning of non-objectification will subdue all demons. If one does not fixate on characteristics in the mind, even without gradually training in the grounds and paths, one will abide in the womb of the Great Mother. Having realized the meaning of the Great Mother, the diseases of effort will be pacified. That which is free from effort will grasp the lineage of the Buddhas of the three times and abide in the ground of no birth. Non-objectification, non-thought, free from expression, unconditioned, unborn, unceasing, naturally luminous, is the mother of the Buddhas of the three times. It is that, there is no other. Abiding in its state is abiding in the womb of the Great Mother. Whatever virtuous deeds are done with characteristics, one will remain in samsara for a long time and will not attain the ground of no birth and death. Thus it is said. How does one abide in the state of non-objectification? What is meant by "demon"? Asked, If one does not fixate on anything in the mind, that is abiding in the state of non-objectification. For that meaning free from fixation, if one does not fabricate with desire and attachment, then one is definitely meditating on non-objectification. Thus it is said. Showing the distinctions of demons: demons with obstacles and demons without obstacles, demons of joy and sorrow and demons of pride, arising from oneself and harming oneself, like the saliva of a rakshasa. Said: To what does the demon with obstacles apply? Asked, The eye faculty is obstructed by form. The nature of the beauty and ugliness of form, by grasping at attachment and aversion, becomes a demon. For the mind that grasps at duality, because the nature of the root has not been established, if one leaves it in its own state in the state of rootlessness, one will subdue the obstruction to form and again transform into wisdom. Form is neither bound nor liberated, in accordance with the Buddha's words. The ear faculty and so on will appear as described above. This is showing the demon with obstacles, which should be known as the outer demon. Without appearing in the realm of objects, holding malice in the heart, and desiring in the mind without an object, and being dull without instruction, and always seeing oneself as superior, and placing jealousy in the heart, and the mind of gods and demons.
