Starting from the names of the earth gods and demons, summon all that can appear, because I will perform the Chöd practice, so let all gather here. First, give the white torma, then give the red torma. Separate your body and mind, give the flesh and blood of your body, and complete the accumulation of merit. Let the mind be like the sky, without support, and abide in it, completing the accumulation of wisdom. Even if confusing miracles sometimes appear, completely cut off hesitation about reality. In this way, realization will become even more manifest. The method of gathering scattered thoughts is: do not let the mind wander in two directions. Do not let consciousness enter a closed state. Do not let consciousness waver. Let consciousness be calm and let consciousness abide openly. The method of tightening and loosening is: do not be too attached to meditation or desire, but relax the consciousness and maintain a relaxed state. Seventh, the chapter on how to practice when sick has four parts: going to dangerous places and cutting off attachment, harmonizing the four elements, transforming illness into practice, and revealing the end of karma. Going to dangerous places and cutting off attachment is: if you are sick, do not look for other methods, but go to a dangerous place. Cut off attachment to this body, completely give yourself to that ghost, and say this: You and I have the same wishes, so now we are connected. Therefore, I offer my body to you. You stay here. I have a profound oral transmission, and in order to purify the sins of both of us, I will practice the correct meaning. Separate the body and mind, and relaxedly abide in the meaning of reality, and whatever the disease is, it will naturally subside. When treating a patient, visualize his body as Mount Sumeru. The three of you (referring to the doctor, the patient, and the ghost) have the same temporary wishes. Do not go elsewhere, stay here. In order to purify the sins of the three of us, I will practice the correct meaning. Selflessly offer the patient's body and abide in the realm of reality. Or, in any place, gently perform (a certain ritual) from the realm of emptiness, and speak truthful words. One's own awareness is also empty, disease and ghosts are also empty, and the patient's body and mind are also empty. Emptiness cannot be grasped by emptiness, so visualize everything becoming empty, and then abide in the realm of reality. Harmonizing the four elements is: generally speaking, for yogis

Whatever sickness arises, place it upon the foundation of practice. Do not cling to the body as the body; by leaving it as it is, one is liberated and departs. Even having done so, if you still do not wish to recover, then this body is composed of the four elements, and sickness is also caused by the four elements. If the outer body is sick, dissolve the four outer great elements into the four inner great elements. Place the area that is sick beneath, and abandon the body like an empty house. Leave the mind without support in the state of the sky. If there is sickness within the body, dissolve these four inner body elements into the four outer elements. Allow the mind to vanish like a dissipating mist, and pacify it by letting go. Alternatively, dissolve the four outer elements into the four inner elements. Dissolve the four inner elements into the secret bodhicitta. Leave the mind effortlessly in the state of unborn emptiness. To subdue sickness with sickness, if the sickness is hot, pacify the heat within the fire. If the sickness is cold, cut off thirst within the water. If the sickness is hot, adopt a diet and behavior harmful to the heat. Think, "Now I would be happy to die. To die right now is the ultimate truth. Since there is a Buddha in the state of Prajnaparamita, I must recognize that." Without attachment to this life, utter "ཕཊ་(藏文,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:phaṭ!)", separate the material and consciousness with wisdom, and release without any doubt. Expand the mind, and leave awareness in the state of vast expanse without mental fabrication. Treat it like Ama Rtsi. Treat it as if it never existed. Treat it as if wherever it goes, it is well. By placing it in this way, sickness and clinging will separate, and life will be restored. Even if restored, do not have a happy mind; leave it without attachment. For cold sickness, adopt a diet and behavior that are harmful, and relax and let go. In the state of non-clinging, utter "ཕཊ་(藏文,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:phaṭ!)", and lie down or sit. There is nothing to meditate on other than separating and placing away pride and clinging in this way. Not meditating is itself meditation. Even if one dies from this, it is good, for one is liberated into the Dharmadhatu. Even if one does not die, it does not matter, because the self-aware wisdom is without cessation. Because the mind that understands the meaning does not have to die, it is placed well wherever it goes. Furthermore, if unhappiness, wanting to go, wanting to cry, anger, etc., arise, do not let consciousness go its own way. Investigate the root with the Khenpo.
