The six verses beginning with "Unobstructed." That is to say, the five poisons such as greed, hatred, delusion, pride, and envy, and the hopes and fears that arise from them, are all demons of arrogance. So it is said. If both are liberated from arrogance, they can be liberated from the six realms and realize the five wisdoms. Such as the twenty-two verses beginning with "Hatred is self-liberated." That is, as mentioned earlier, in the situation where everything converges on arrogance, recognizing that discrimination has no basis, the five afflictions can be self-liberated, the suffering of the six realms can be purified, and the five afflictions can be transformed into the five wisdoms. If analyzed in detail, taking affliction and hatred as the cause, experiencing the suffering of hell, because it is arrogance, relying on recognizing that it has no basis, one can obtain mirror-like wisdom. Similarly, greed and hungry ghosts, and the three discriminating wisdoms; delusion and animals, and the three dharmadhatu wisdoms; jealousy and humans and gods, and the three accomplishing wisdoms; pride and asuras, and the three equality wisdoms. Combine as described above. Therefore, self-liberation from arrogance is the Prajnaparamita. So it is said. Third, from the perspective of metaphor, there is no cowardice. That is, from the thirteen verses beginning with "That is also," this is a special teaching. Because all discriminations are demons, they must be cut off. For example, like a lion living in the snowy mountains, without fear or shyness, destroy arrogance and abide in the state of non-reality, and no internal or external obstacles will arise. Even if they arise, they will surely turn into opportunities for training, because this is one's own magical power. So, after cutting off thoughts, is it practice? It is not like that, no matter what arises, cut off its reality, and you can overwhelm the Hinayana and so on, let alone diseases and demons. Therefore, this method of cutting off from the root is particularly excellent. So it is said. Fourth, even if one understands but does not cut it off, it is a bondage. Such as the seven verses beginning with "Understanding." That is to say, even if people understand the non-reality of things as mentioned above, if they do not practice the union of view and action, there is no difference from clinging to things. For example, it is like a weapon without a flag.

By practicing the union of view and conduct, one subdues the maras, just as a brave warrior defeats the enemy army with skill. As it is said in the Compendium: For example, a wise person is endowed with all virtues, and so on, just as one goes to bliss and returns home again. Likewise, at that time, the Bodhisattva is also wise, generating great compassion in all sentient realms, surpassing the four maras and the two grounds. Thus it is said. Fifth, cutting off pride and becoming a Buddha is Emaho! and so on, three lines. That is, if one realizes the absence of all clinging, one becomes a Buddha. As it is said in the Compendium of the Perfection of Wisdom: Whether the departed, whether the lords of the ten directions, this mantra is the supreme king of medicine. Thus it is said. Everything should be regarded as unreal. Joy and pride are combined into two, common and supreme. The first is divided into two: if one clings to accomplishment, it is a mara, that is, joy and so on, five lines. That is, clinging to the signs of warmth and temporary results, that is the mara. If one does not cling, it is an ornament, that is, non-clinging and so on, two lines. That is, in the nature of being devoid of the two, grasper and grasped, having unobstructed power is an ornament. As it is said in the Compendium: The example of magical power, likewise, the wise Bodhisattva abides in emptiness, not abiding in the other shore of wisdom and magical power, showing limitless activities to beings, without weariness or fatigue for countless eons. Thus it is said. The second, supreme, is divided into two: showing joy as a mara, that is, the three bodies and so on, two lines. That is, based on the abiding in the nature of the three bodies, if there are other hopes and doubts, that is a mara. Thus it is said. If one knows this, there is no pride, that is, samsara is self-liberated and so on, eight lines. That is, knowing that samsara and nirvana are self-liberated, liberating from thoughts and concepts in unreality, without the need to cultivate other antidotes, therefore cut off pride. Furthermore, the various aspects of the mara are described in detail in the chapter on the mara in the Perfection of Wisdom.
