If you abandon yourself and seek, Even through countless eons, You will not attain it through practice, Do not seek, do not practice, rest in your own nature. Cut off hope, and be free from the extremes of hope and fear, From severing the rope of attachment, Surely there is a place to attain Buddhahood. Although demons are divided into four, In reality, they are all gathered into the demon of pride. When pride arises towards objects, This is shown as the demon with obstacles. The attachment and aversion to objects, Just realizing that the root is in pride, Like smoke in a wall crack, Like a fire in a stove extinguished by the wind. By cutting the rope of pride, one is freed from clinging to reality, Like cessation, one does not negate the object. By realizing the root is severed, the demon with obstacles, Surely all demons are cut off. Like a magician, Appearances arise, but no attachment arises. Therefore, cut the rope of pride, Even if it is not liberated by cutting, If you realize the root is severed, it cannot be held, You will be liberated in the expanse of Dharmadhatu. Cherish the upward climb without calculation. The unobstructed demon is also gathered into pride, The five poisons and other afflictions, And fear of invisible ghosts, Hope for unreal gods, Likewise, hope and fear for mental objects, All arise from pride, It is the demon of pride. Anger is liberated in its own place, Also arises from cutting the root of pride. Liberated from the demon of boiling and burning hell, Obtain wisdom like a mirror. Desire is liberated in its own place, Also arises from cutting the root of pride. Liberated from the demon of hunger and thirst of pretas, Obtain the wisdom of individual realization. Ignorance is liberated in its own place, Also arises from cutting the root of pride. Liberated from the demon of servitude of animals, Obtain the wisdom of Dharmadhatu. Jealousy is liberated in its own place, Also arises from cutting the root of pride. Liberated from the demon of changing humans, Obtain the wisdom of accomplishing activities. Pride is liberated in its own place, Also arises from cutting the root of pride. Liberated from the demon of fighting and falling, Obtain the wisdom of equality. If the rope of pride is not cut, the five poisons, Cutting pride, one can self-liberate and become wisdom. Therefore, everything is gathered into pride. Like a lion above the white snow mountain, Without feeling fear or unease, If you have confidence without pride, The gods and demons of appearance and existence cannot rise up. Even if they rise up a hundred times, the instructions are clear. Self

If you know it is a magical display of mind, you will surely go into great practice. Without cutting off the stream of memory, do not meditate, it is enough to realize self-arising. Diseases and epidemics are the same. This cutting off after realizing the rootlessness, this instruction is superior to all instructions. Even if you realize it, if you do not cut it off directly, like a sharp and hot iron, the view does not save you, you will be bound by fear. The yogi who combines view and practice, like a hero who is given a weapon, like destroying all enemy forces, destroys all demons in the realm of non-pride. Emaho! By cutting off self-pride, all demons are pacified. By realizing the rootlessness, one attains enlightenment. Leave it in its natural state. Try to leave everything as it is. Joy The demon of joy is also gathered in pride. Joy in common dharma, joy in supreme fruit, all arise from one's own pride. If you are attached, you will become a demon. The self-arising of non-attachment is said to be the ornament of the non-pride dharmakaya. Since the three kayas are the fruit of oneself, there is no need to create joy elsewhere. Since samsara is liberated in its own place, there is no need to seek nirvana elsewhere. Since thoughts arise as their own form, there is no need to meditate on non-thought on purpose. Therefore, since everything is pride, I have said to cut off pride. It is said that everything is kept pure, but there is no grasping in the pure mind. The example is to make a decision, the yogis who have received the instructions, like birds feeding their young, if the instructions are carried by the mouth, like autumn birds dying of starvation, one will surely wander in samsara. Like raising a good calf, if you are full and do things for the benefit of others, like raising a calf, if you can cut off your own pride, sentient beings will surely be liberated, and there will be no hesitation in accomplishing the benefit of others. Like a great garuda soaring in the sky, seeing the four continents without effort, not fearing dangerous abysses, suppressing crows and other birds. Likewise, if you can cut off the experience, you will realize that the four demons have no roots, and you will suppress ghosts and demons. You will not fear the three evil realms. If you do not know the rootlessness, practicing the law of cause and effect is like leaving the trunk and grasping the branches. The yogi who realizes the rootlessness, if he knows that thoughts are sudden.
