Thus, it is placed in equipoise. Second, the introduction to the post-meditation state is: When arising from equipoise and engaging in activities, whatever appears as form appears without inherent existence, like a reflection in a mirror, appearing empty and devoid of attachment, remaining clear. Whatever sounds are heard, like the sound of a bell or an echo from a rock, resounding in emptiness and vastness. All thoughts and memories of the mind, like scenes in a dream, without clinging to any appearance as real, are recognized nakedly as awareness-emptiness. Thus, when all phenomena are exhausted of clinging to reality, the arising of samsara, which arises dependent on external objects, will no longer accumulate the karma of the three poisons. The three doors of body, speech, and mind, without intentional fabrication, remain as ordinary, yet the two accumulations are naturally perfected. The guide Namkhai Nyingpo said: "By leaving the three doors in ordinariness, the two accumulations are perfected in the mindstream. Look at this key point of the bird's return, like cutting a rope in water!" Thus, it was taught. Fourth, regarding the distinction of the empowerment lineage, the method of invoking the guru's samaya is: On the crown of one's head, visualize any of the three supports—elaborate, medium, or concise—and at the four places of the actual guru, visualize Oṃ (ༀ,oṃ,唵,body), Āḥ (ཨཱཿ,āḥ,阿,speech), Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,吽,mind), and Hrīḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ,hrīḥ,啥,merit). And pray. Guru Accomplishment Hūṃ)," this eight-syllable essence of mind training, with strong devotion and longing for the guru on the crown of one's head, and pray. Likewise, as with visualizing the elaborate and medium supports, the lower gurus gradually generate devotion and longing for the higher gurus, recite the essence mantra, and think that the guru is helping oneself, praying in the manner of a lower one supplicating the higher. Then, pray in the manner of requesting blessings: After praying in this way, visualize the immeasurable compassion and blessings of the lineage gurus dissolving in succession into the lower gurus, until the blessings dissolve into the actual guru. Visualize that the actual guru does not dissolve into light, but remains as the embodiment of the totality of the lineage, and recite the essence mantra with strong devotion and longing. From the four places of the guru, immeasurable compassion and great blessings appear in the form of white, red, blue, and various other colors of light, dissolving into one's own four places like water poured into water. The obscurations of the three doors, along with equality,

Think that, through the blessing of emptiness of mind, emptiness of appearance, emptiness of sound, emptiness of thought, without duality, experiences and realizations blaze up roaringly. At the time of concluding the session, may the glorious lama, the embodiment of the Dharmakaya, be accomplished. Say this, and in all activities, remember the lama on the crown of your head and develop devotion and reverence. This will perfect the power of samadhi in the mind of the afflicted, and it is said that one mantra will accomplish all purposes without obstruction. It causes the arising of authentic realization and experience that have not arisen, and it causes what has arisen to increase more and more. Even if there are no signs or qualities of realization and experience in this life, it will be accomplished as it is in the bardo. As the nun Yeshe Özer said: By diligently turning the wheel on the long path, the basis matures, and the bhumis and paths are cut through in one completion. This is the key to the four empowerments, taking the path as a means, and mind training. Third, explaining the completion of the subsequent path along with the precepts is divided into two parts: explaining the precepts for guarding against the four stains, and explaining the four levels of completion. The first is the method of guarding against the four stains of leakage, dripping, bias, and reversal: During this time of mind training, if one loses faith due to disrespect for the lama, it is leakage. If one abandons the mind of love for sentient beings, it is dripping. If one does not abandon all actions, including the four meaningless actions, it is bias. If one jumps up from the cushion without experiencing the taste, it is known as the stain of reversal and must be guarded against. If there is leakage, it should be filled, that is, think of the lama's qualities and kindness and generate the perception of the Buddha. If there is dripping, it should be stopped, that is, meditate on the four immeasurables of love, compassion, joy, and equanimity for sentient beings. If there is bias, it should be weighed, that is, with strong renunciation, abandon the activities of this life and strive to engage in virtuous practice. If there is reversal, it should be grasped, that is, generate certainty in the profound instructions and plant them firmly. The second part is divided into four: the degree of completion of the essence, the degree of completion of the signs, the degree of completion of the qualities, and the degree of completion of the number. The first is: Knowing that all phenomena are mind, there is no real attachment to anything, and knowing from the depths of the heart that the nature of mind is emptiness, inexpressible. The second is divided into three signs: cause, path, and result. The cause is the sign of purifying obscurations: including vomiting, diarrhea, pus and blood flowing from the body and sentient beings appearing, wearing new clothes, bathing, crossing a river, etc.
